Moving to Arch...maybe

As my journey continues to find a new operating system environment, I have come back to Arch. The last time I used it was more than a decade ago. I followed a website step by step on building Arch and I was so proud of myself to make it work from the first try. I don't recall if I used a desktop or laptop at the time, memories are all a blur now at my age.

I can't believe how easy it is to install these days. I followed a YouTube video from Learn Linux and the guided install even asked which desktop environment or window manager to use. I picked KDE to test out and it installs the bare minimum without all the KDE apps most other distros include. The KDE Discover store does not work at all and Arch forces you to use pacman. This is fine and I started wrapping my head around pacman and aur packages. My brain just stopped working after reading all this and I stopped. It just added to my frustrations of not having a working trackpad no matter what I tested. I think the ThinkPad A475 is just cursed at this point.

I've been struggling testing out various distros. Sometimes it's hardware and other times it is the overall experience. I really haven't found a distro that I love to use. I'm not sure what that means. I may just need a break from testing and focus on writing for now. And for that any hardware and software will do.
