HyperCard History

HyperCard for me is an anomaly. It was this odd thing I heard about back in the day but never experienced it. I never used old Macintosh computers until the 1998 iMac G3 with Mac OS 9. Today HyperCard pops up online from time to time and my curiosity starts up again.

From Wikipedia,

"HyperCard is a software application and development kit for Apple Macintosh and Apple IIGS computers. It is among the first successful hypermedia systems predating the World Wide Web.

HyperCard combines a flat-file database with a graphical, flexible, user-modifiable interface. HyperCard includes a built-in programming language called HyperTalk for manipulating data and the user interface."

A YouTube video appeared in my feed after watching a Mac user switching to Linux video. (That video was another Linux clickbait, so let's forget it.) Below I linked to the interesting HyperCard video as well as the Computer Chronicles episode from 1987.
