SO TIRED BLEH but I might as well get Chapter 6 started! Actually wait, before I do that, I might as well dump some thoughts here that occurred to me about earlier chapters since I don't know where to put them otherwise.
-Wes trained Duster with all the thief tools (or so one assumes) but actually only lets him keep them in chapter two, otherwise the only thing he lets Duster have when he's not around are the staples. I CAN'T TRUST YOU WITH THIS SIREN BEETLE DUSTER
-They rallied everyone to make a search party in chapter one except Duster for some reason, who was sleeping. The weirdest thing is that WES COMES TO HELP but not Duster. Did they just go to Wes's house and he left without him? Did Wes just not know where Duster was/not care? No one was wondering hey where's Wes's son anyway, what's he doing, can't he give us a hand? Did everyone just forget him? It's not like Duster didn't want to help, since he's really gungho to help you out when he gets there. It's just like Wes why didn't you kick Duster out of bed and take him with you, that's so weird. Although Jonel is like GO HOME WES YOU'RE TOO OLD so maybe no one asked Wes to help and he just showed up anyway, but why not ask Duster? He's not too old. Maybe they did just completely forget him, haha.
Oh, and since we finished Chapter 5, here's the HQ music from that! Definitely worth it for the jukebox songs, haha.

No I'm totally serious, that's all of Chapter 6. I mentioned before how Mother 3 plays with your expectations, and this chapter is a big way it does that. Every chapter before this has been about the same length, you'll notice. By this point you've assumed there are unspoken rules about the length of a chapter, created your own logic around what's happened since the game never states a chapter length or anything. Then Itoi just yanks the rug out from under you all HA HA HA HA HA
Honestly, you might as well just watch a video of it, it's only five minutes long and it gets the entire thing across much better.
In a way, this chapter's a reminder that you don't need dialogue or long cutscenes to achieve emotional impact. You don't need words to know why Lucas would jump. Simplicity can be very powerful.

And again this relates to that theme of powerlessness I've brought up before, just things outside your control. You can't save Tazmily anymore - it's dying. You can TELL it's dying. And you WANT to save it, but you can't. What's killing Tazmily isn't something you can fight. But you want to do it anyway, so when you do something like destroy the thunder tower, you think, that's it, now I accomplished something, now Tazmily will go back to the way it was. But it'll never go back to the way it was. You can't stop change like this. No matter what you do, it's out of your control, just like so many other things in this game.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT, OUR GRAND ADVENTURE as you've probably guessed, this chapter is the longest in the game. I love that it follows the shortest one, haha. But in true RPG fashion, now we have to go collect things! Just like Mother 1 and EarthBound, haha. In fact, since the Magypsies are named after musical terms, we're actually hunting songs just like the other two games! HOW APPROPRIATE
However Chapter 7 is also unusual that it's pretty nonlinear. You can hunt down whatever Magypsy you want in whatever order, mostly. There is a path that game sort of hints you to following, but you can break from it and do other things instead if you want, which I've done once or twice. It's TOUGH to do things out of the intended order but possible! However, I decided to follow the main one here because hey why not. Also god it's so hard out of order.
SO NEXT UP, THE CHIMERA LAB!
