Hello Polymaths.social! For those of you that don't yet know me, my name is Rogue. 👋🏻
I'm a university student in the US studying Electrical Engineering, with a specific interest in radio frequency studies.
My main hobbies that I love to talk about are #AmateurRadio, #DartBlaster Modifications, and #Film. I also write some code on the side as well, in #JS and #Python and hope to learn other languages in the future.
I'm constantly working on side projects so expect my Polymaths feed to be a load of non-sense but I'm happy to be here :)
Curious… @FediTree
(I apologize in advance I know yall have seen at least 15 of these on your feed today)
2 out of 6 uni finals done…
I started doing #ProjectEuler again today, and I keep coming up with awful solutions that take like 10 minutes to compute...
But on the bright side, said insane compute time led me to dive into the Sieve of Eratosthenes algorithm and get it working in Python because finding primes is hard.
Proud of myself since I hate doing math usually!

I’m trying to think about how to structure my projects in my notes system (currently using Obsidian) - right now I’ve just got them as files in the root folder along with everything else, but I feel like I’ll start to lose projects and then dive too deep into Dataview queries to find what I need.
Anyone got something that works for them well they’d love to share? I’d also love to see what your project notes look like in general (if you take them)!

Anyone know of an alternative to Netlify that allows for GitHub organizations to auto-deploy repos for free?
I've got a website for a student organization stored in an organization for that org on GH and dealing with manual uploads is...bad. Site is built with 11ty if that helps.
Purchased a filament dehydrator and giving that a shot. I've had some prints fail recently and I think it is filament issues, so let's see what this spits out. I'll do a calibration print to test, and then will re-attempt my current projects (coasters for my house)!
#11ty #Eleventy people! I've got about 500 images to add to a site in album format, anyone got suggestions on photo gallery type site starters or other docs that might help me accomplish this? Photos are currently stored by album in folders, and I just need an MVP that displays the album and all its images, metadata can come later.
NYT Tech strike reported to be over, I can finally go back to playing my crosswords 🙏
I wonder if Obsidian Web Clipper could be automated at all...I've got 2.8k bookmarks that I'd be interested in saving to a vault with this new system but I don't want to sit there for 30 hours and do it manually with sorting and all.
Live web chat applications for customer service that don't play a sound when a new message comes in are cursed (this one I'm using right now just changes the page title to "New Message" with no other indicators)

Today is a pretty good day so far. I woke up earlier (than usual for a weekend), and already got my “during business hours prerequisites” done for my tasks today! I went and got my library card fixed so I don’t have to do that during the week, and got a frame for a certificate to hang up.
@thunderbird I have a minor bug to report regarding drafts savings with an Office365 account on the latest update (multiple drafts are being continuously saved for a message that has been sent) - is there a starter guide out there for reporting bugs and what y'all need and how to access it in terms of logs and such?
Hmm…I’ve decided what book I want to read next but it’s not free as an ebook from the library. I can either buy it for $6 digital, or go drive ~10 miles to go pick it up from the library tomorrow during lunch hour. :(
I need to write a blog post this weekend for #WritingMonth to make progress towards my goal (4 blosts by the end of the month, 1 a week). But...I have no idea what to write that's not too topical and a downer. Any ideas/suggestions?
Just renewed my personal domain with one day to spare...I gotta be better about that lmao
I really need to clean out my backpack - I just found a magazine in there that I received and finished reading at the beginning of last month...not to mention that it was in a pile of old tests and other nonsense.
On a similar note, I should also finally get a bookshelf so that all my books and magazines are organized when I (hopefully) move soon....
Anyone here have experience with bone conduction headphones?
I don’t like the feeling of things in my ears, and over ears make my ears hot, so I’m thinking about trying bone conduction but want to know how good the quality is and if you lose out on background noises and such with things other than music.
