About
Hey Choom, if you’re wondering where you’ve ended up here? I’m not entirely sure myself, but anyway, what you’re looking at here is an 88x31 button generator. If you’re wondering what on earth 88x31 buttons are? They’re a relic from a time on the internet that was a bit like anarchy - you could surf the web freely without being monitored everywhere you went. Well, these buttons were everywhere back then. And now they’re back! If you like this tool, feel free to leave a little message in my guestbook on my website :)
If you’re a regular user of this tool and are wondering why it looks different now, don’t worry. I’ve finally updated the tool after many years and made significant improvements. Version 2 now adds animation frames, direct canvas controls, richer pixel-drawing tools, autosave and a much stronger export workflow, but if you’re feeling nostalgic or don’t cope so well with changes (which, by the way, is absolutely fine!), I’ve still got the old version here.

Tool info
This tool was made with PHP, JavaScript and (A)utistic (I)ntelligence.
At this point, a big "fuck you" to all you unskilled AI bros out there. I can create my own slop myself; it takes a bit longer, but at least I’ve learnt something in the process, unlike you.
I see you out there. You paste a 2345247-line ChatGPT, Claude, PissheadAI etc hallucination into an IDE you can't configure, hit deploy, and suddenly you're a "builder". You're "shipping". No. You're a prompt jockey at the drive-thru window of creativity, shouting orders into a machine that happily serves you reheated mediocrity, and you don't even know what's in the sauce.
You don't know why your div is centered, you just know the magic robot said display: flex like a digital oracle, and you obeyed without question. Your entire technical identity is a subscription fee. Your "skill" is typing "fix this" into a box. When the hallucination serves you a dependency from 2019 with 14 critical CVE's, you'll just paste that error message right back into the same chat window and call it debugging. You're not a developer; you're an overqualified copy-paste mechanism. The output isn't yours - it's just statistical averages dressed up as code, and you're the mannequin wearing it, pretending you tailored the suit yourself.
Meanwhile, the people using this weird little tool of mine? They're out there actually googling what a flex container is. They're reloading the page 90 times because that one background color still doesn't look right.
They're making absolute garbage, and I mean that as the highest compliment - gloriously imperfect, hand-crafted garbage where you can see the fingerprints all over the final product. That's not slop. That's a goddamn learning process.
That's someone who will remember the pain of fixing that broken div at 2am. That struggle is the point. That's skill. They're building their first website - a simple, earnest act of creation that no amount of AI-generated "modern landing pages" will ever match, because theirs exists for a reason other than a LinkedIn flex.
So yeah, this tool's made with (A)utistic (I)ntelligence. The kind that stays up late tweaking things, not the kind that auto-completes mediocrity. If you're here to actually build your first weird little site and learn something, you're my favorite person. You're keeping the spirit of the old web alive, one broken link at a time.
The prompt bros can scroll on. This isn't for you.
