It’s been an interesting week. It feels like we’ve worked through the usual blockers that can stall progress or narrow a project’s scope. I think that’s largely down to a stronger shared understanding of the different perspectives across project teams, developers, and managers. From the beginning, we were clear that we were automating an existing pathway, which has helped anchor discussions. For example, I use data engineering terminology with analytics colleagues, clinical or business language with NHS Trust developers, and yet another framing when speaking with managers, who naturally operate with a different vocabulary and focus. There’s also been a fair amount of back-channel communication. Much of it is actually open, but it’s the weaving together of different strands that tends to happen behind the scenes — although I expect that process to become more visible over time. (Sorry, no details on who is communicating here) Some of the back-channel activity has been a little unusual — BAs drafting technical designs for developers, developers generating clinical pathways for BAs (using AI), and then both sides working together to refine and correct those flows.
