While we were building Apex Speed Run (ASR) in México City, community leaders from a few other Latin American cities asked if we could stop by to set new ASR courses. We didn’t have time to visit them all (yet), but we’ve long wanted to see El Salvador, so we decided to make a quick stop before flying back to the USA!
El Salvador is a gorgeous country with volcanoes, beaches, jungle, and vibrant culture. The local parkour community was incredible, and 30+ people participated in our Easter Sunday speed jam!

When Walter showed up to the speed jam, Bryan told us, “This is the fastest guy in El Salvador,” and he lived up to it! Despite repping 3 tough courses in one day, Walter snagged 2 of the 3 course records and finished in second place on the third!
Eric blew us all away with his course record on Cuscatán 1 Speed Run. He was the only athlete to break the 10-second barrier despite our large group logging over 80 runs on the course! Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to run the other courses yet, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see if he can steal any more of the local course records.
Special thanks to Bryan for inviting us to El Salvador and for helping us organize a speed jam with an epic turnout. Bryan is 1 of the main leaders of the El Salvador community, and it shows! He was the only one to break all the big jumps on Cuscatlán 2 Speed Run, and put up a top 3 time on all 3 courses nearby.
Cuscatlán Park is a beautiful oasis in the middle of the city, and now home to 3 ASR courses! This was our first and most popular course in El Salvador. It’s short, sweet, and fun to rep until you get the perfect run. We found it hard to move on to the other courses because everyone wanted ONE LAST RUN 😅
Did someone say timed water features?! This course includes a surprising challenge because you must time your run with the water features that occasionally soak parts of the course. Between cleaning up puddles, drying off handrails, dodging pedestrians, and timing it just right, this course is a unique challenge!

As Walter’s nephew, Anderson was our youngest player in El Salvador. Looks like speed runs in the family! With endless energy and focus, he practiced and ran Cuscatlán 1 more than almost everyone else, crushing the final ascent that’s at least 3x his height 👏
After 4 months of building ASR in Hawai’i, México, Guatemala, and El Salvador, we’re heading back to Denver to reconnect with our Colorado community. We’ll revisit some of our 27 existing ASR courses on the Front Range and set a few new ones too! Plus, we’re so close to sharing BIG news on what’s next for ASR.
