This morning, I woke up to the great news that my Substack newsletter is ranked in the TOP TWENTY Health Politics newsletters, and I wanted to say thank you! Thank you to my fabulous readers for supporting my voice and words.
I love Substack because it truly takes me back to my blogging roots. In 2009, I was stuck in a fulltime job at what I like to refer to as “ground zero for toxic white feminism,” and pondering my next career move while hustling, and freelancing as a Guest Co-Host on Al-Jazeera English (AJE). One day, I left in the middle of an office meeting and just went to my desk, went to Wordpress.com and gave myself what I had been craving— my own online real estate.
That was the day I started the first and original “Anushay’s Point,” a blog where women of color, our stories and our strength, were celebrated as power players and not just charity basket cases. The rest, as they say, is #herstory! I am so happy that when I started this Substack three years ago, I chose the very name that takes me back to my blogging days, when I first starting writing and sharing my points with the world.
To celebrate and more, I am doing a Substack LIVE with the one and only Next Monday 08/03 at 1pm ET! Dr. Casperson is a urologist, author, and one of the most unfiltered voices in women’s sexual health. And she’s joining me to uncover just how deeply women are underserved, dismissed, and undereducated when it comes to their bodies, especially in midlife.
In this conversation, we’ll get into the systemic gaps in women’s healthcare, from the shocking disparities in how men’s and women’s sexual health are treated to the myths that still surround menopause and hormone therapy.
Join us and thank you again for reading, subscribing and sharing my newsletter. It means the world!
ANUSHAY'S POINT is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
