For the last 10 years or so, I love to celebrate my birthday and have a mix of new and old friends around.
I always ask folk to bring something to share for the feast, I don’t ask what anyone will bring and it always works out perfectly. Some years there are more cakes some years less!
I wholeheartedly invite you to celebrate your birthday. I love the attention of course I get on this day, but it’s not my day, it’s an occasion I get for the folk I know to meet each other and have a really good day. When friends decide to not have a party I’m always a bit sad to have missed the occasion to celebrate their life and have fun together.
If my birthday is on a Monday, like it is this year, I hold a party outside at lunchtime and in the afternoon. Many of my friends are artists, freelancers or retired. I like the to break the “can only have a party on the weekend”.
In Italy, it’s considered bad luck to celebrate before so I’d also have completely forgotten about my birthday next weekend!
And of course everyday is really an excuse to celebrate life, birthdays though, are a no brainer excuse to do so!
That all said, in two hours at 8pm UK, 3pm ET, 11am PT we are making the first showing of the documentary Sara Pozzoli has made about the festival I run in the SUMMER, GIOCOSAMENTE.
I’d really love to hear how it touches you in the comments, it would really make my day.
Don’t forget to add the CC subtitles on Youtube to understand what folk say in it. It took me quite a while to sort them out so please make the most out of them :)
Tickets for Giocosamente open on the 1st of April at 9pm.
Don’t miss the other retreats and events in programme here:
