A podcast & photos from Parliament House

The Regenerative Food and Farming Alliance (RFFA) launched at Australia’s Parliament House in Canberra last week. It’s focus: accelerating the transition to a food and farming system that nourishes people and the planet.

It’s been brought together by many a guest on the podcast over the years. Half of the people in the photo above for a start (their organisations are the starting members of the Alliance). Plus, as of last week, the woman on the right.

A force behind so much good stuff in this country, including this Alliance, I’ve been looking forward to having Rebecca Gorman on the podcast since we met at Martin Royds’ farm a few years ago.

Beck is a highly respected former journalist turned farmer, philanthropist and company director. We had a terrific chat about her life, its transformations leading her here, the new Alliance and its big launch, grabbing a moment together among her spate of meetings throughout the subsequent 24 hours.

And cracking the whip, as Beck put it, is Georgie Johnson (also in the pic at the top). She also cracks the whip for Grounded Festival, as it happens, Australia’s ‘roaming festival for better farming, food and ecological care’, which has its next edition in the Otways of Victoria in April (at the legendary Stewart farm). I’ll be hosting proceedings in one of the tents, and hope to see you there. (10% discount for paid Substack and Patreon subscribers btw)

Anyway, Georgie sent me the photos in this article, all taken by the bloke who also happens to photograph Grounded, Alan Benson.

There are more photos from Alan (and from a couple of star regenerative farmers too) on The RegenNarration website, where you can hear my chat with Beck, along with a glimpse of her earlier music theatre days! You can also hear the episode below, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
