Last week I shared a brief retrospective as The RegenNarration podcast prepares to enter its 10th year. It was also somewhat of a love letter to supporting listeners, and you reading here, for being interested and supportive of all this. Thank you!
At the end of that piece, I shared a couple of the snapshots from 2025 that were fed back to me by podcast platforms. There are more, though. So here is a selection some of the more, let’s say, novel snapshots. I mean, some of it is genuinely interesting. Other bits? Well, they’re novel.
Like the artists that listeners of The RegenNarration (on a certain dubious platform that distributes both) were listening to during 2025 …
Who knew? Legacy of touring the Americas the last couple of years, maybe. I guess everyone listens to Taylor? I didn’t know of the blokes on the list. And having found myself Montanafied out of the States (coming to love Country music, even before we got to Nashville), I’m enjoying the sweeper there, Zach, as I type. (I had a 25 year old son of a great mate from Victoria drop by this week, and he hears it and says ‘oh, Zach Bryan’. I’m late to the party, obviously, but hey, good thing I run a podcast that keeps me remotely in touch!)
Then there’s this (yes, the same platform distributes audiobooks) …
The Alchemist! I read that during band days in the ‘90s, living in inner bayside Melbourne. And friend (and subscriber, partly responsible for my Montanafication), Nicole, gives another powerful woman a run for top spot.
What do I take from this list? I guess our shared interests span politics, soil and alchemy. Sounds about right.
Then of course there are the other podcasts that listeners to The RegenNarration tune into on this particular platform …
Like Taylor, I guess, everyone listens to Joe. Don’t they? Seems like everyone listens to the other blokes too - tens of millions anyway.
Looking inwards, this was apparently the most popular episode on The RegenNarration last year, by some margin!
It sure was fascinating, and worth the wait till we were in person in his place, Burlington, Vermont. You’ll hear why, if you haven’t already.

My host platform, Buzzsprout, sent me the above. More episodes than ever last year. Heard in more countries and cities than ever.
Finally, I can tell you that listener demographics, to the extent they’re available, have been steady over the years. 80% of listeners are between 28-59 years of age, pretty evenly spread across those ages, with an even gender spread too (48% female, 48% male, the rest non-binary). Though as the age of listeners increases, so does the proportion of women (the inverse is true too).
And all this is only possible thanks to you supporting listeners and readers. Thank you again! So very much. Let’s see where it leads us this year.
