We’ve been back from our trip for about 5 days now and I’m here to report that maybe jet lag gets worse as you age. Especially when it’s a cross country coast to coast trip. It’s been six year since we traveled via air and I can assure you that the experience has not improved in those years. Airports are still confusing, airlines are still being delayed and gates are still being changed willy-nilly it seems. But maybe that’s the age talking? Going there wasn’t so bad, it was the coming home end of the trip that sucked the big one.
But it’s good to be home and it’s taken me so much time to catch up on life and the day to day studio time, when I can squeeze it out inbetween trying to deal with artists and PR issues for the wonderful show we have up right now at the Portland Public Library.
But visiting my siblings in Eugene was great. We got to go to my SIL’s booth at the big Saturday Market event, which is allegedly one of oldest in the country. Here are some “street” photos of the scene - very hippy-esque.

We stayed with my sister and her partner but since she lives in a very hilly part of town, I think that next time we get out there, we’ll be staying at a hotel, so I can use their gym facilities to get my exercise in.
I’ve found that if I don’t get in at least 4 sessions of cardio work in a week, in addition to my PT stuff (that is on-going at this point), the cramping of one leg due to some nerve damage from a back surgery seven years ago gets much worse. To the point that I have to take muscle relaxers, which is not optimal.
