Between hosting my Maine brother’s family for Thanksgiving and the UMVA art reception at the Craignair Inn up in Spruce Head on the 19th of November and the Yuletide season coming at us like a freight train it seems… I’m a month late in posting this…
but now at long last… a look at some of the art in Rockland at the CMCA - Center for Maine Contemporary Art which is featuring their Biennial until January 11th. So head on up there to see some work by (mostly) Maine artists under the baton of new CMCA curator GRANT WAHLQUIST.

But before we dive into some of my favorite pieces from the show, here’s some photos of my friend Sue Michlovitz’s new handmade book. We were able to get together for lunch before going over to the CMCA when we were up on the Midcoast.
Another of my friends and a sister board member of UMVA, Janice L. Moore, had work chosen for this year’s exhibition.
I had not been aware of this artist who was also included in the show:

Then we wandered over to the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, where they had a figurative show. Here are some of my favorites there:
