Beloveds,

Yep, the last few weeks have been A LOT. And I know it’s not just me. A lot of activation/triggering/fear/uncertainty/stress in the field.

It’s been a lot to hold and to process. I notice I have needed so much more rest than usual and it’s harder to get said rest, too. (I’m sure that massive full moon in Sag didn’t have a thing to do with it - O.M.G.)

So much is being asked of all of us right now, namely to let go, to purge. In fact, this has been my contemplation this week: How to purge your past. Obviously, you can’t exactly do that, but how to free yourself from the stuck energies, the triggers, the ever-repeating sense of confusion, fear or not-enoughness.

We have to let go in order to make something anew. We can’t carry the carcass of the past into our future, because frankly, that rot stinks.

And that, my friends, is where turkey vulture medicine enters.

All week I pondered this idea of purging, only to realize in a flash this morning that it’s all about purification, not purging.

The energy of purging is akin to disgust (think vomiting). It’s a yang-flavored disallowing, a disavowal. The energy of purification is all about alchemical acceptance. It’s yin, it’s about being willing to sanctify (make sacred) an experience, a relationship, a fear. It’s a willingness to receive the sacred wisdom of the past and alchemize old wounds into wisdom.

So on my walk this morning, as I watched a turkey vulture glide majestically overhead, making two complete counter-clockwise revolutions, I was immediately grateful to Spirit for sending us turkey vulture medicine.

Its a powerful reminder of what this time is for. We have to purify the past, let this medicine devour the rot we’re increasingly aware of so that the future we build together stinks a whole lot less than what we’re leaving behind.

Yes, I’m being a little cheeky. And also - this is legit what’s happening. We need to purify. Not because we were born impure, not because we are inherently flawed. But because what we are building is beautiful and sacred and we now know too much to let the new become contaminated with old ways of being that are much-less-than-sacred.

I go into this in much greater detail in the video below. I even offer to lead a turkey vulture medicine guided visualization at some point. If that resonates, lemme know!

The Spirit notes in today’s episode:

  • Is it death? Or rebirth? What exactly needs purifying, anyway?

  • The alchemy of purification vs the self-denial of purging your past

  • My fave quote about forgiveness (or self-forgiveness)

  • Yet another reminder why we can’t do this work alone

  • The simple steps to purify your heart, your perspective, your past

  • A nature oracle message and meditation offer to lean on this week

Letting go can feel like a death. It doesn’t need to, though, because it always leads to a rebirth. And the best news of all is you get choice in how to meet it and what to create from the ashes of your past.

>>> If these messages resonate, please share with one person in your soul fam. This is my ministry of love and it really helps if you like, subscribe and share. I appreciate you so much.

Yep, it can be challenging. If you need support navigating this great awakening or your own dark night of the soul, let’s talk. We are not meant to do any of this alone.

Big Love,
Anné

P.S. there’s another way to handle the triggers

When the Tunes’ feathers get ruffled, she knows just what to do. Find a spot outside, dig feverishly until a perfect dirt nest is formed, then lie right in it. In fact, it’s best if you can also roll in the dirt completely. (I guess this is her earthing?) Then find a spot to relax and look for birds. Or anything else to chase.

When it comes to triggers, being activated, or getting your panties in a bunch, take it from the Tunes. Go outside, get your paws (or hands, or whatever) on the earth, ugly cry to your favorite tree, bush, flower, houseplant. Whatever it takes. Let the Great Mother work her magic. And then ask for turkey vulture medicine to clean you up.

(Public Service Announcement: It’s ok for men to ugly cry, too.)

P.P.S. Come join me and Emily Trinkaus live in Santa Fe for a half-day women’s retreat on July 11: Surrender to Your Revolutionary Rebirth... Details coming soon. xo
