What's keeping me writing this week #3

The course I’m taking from Nadia Colburn’s Align Your Story. By “taking,” I mean “looking wistfully at from behind a work screen” and “trying to listen to between flights” and “saving space for that shrinks as it approaches.” But I am also writing! Now, I have been a writing teacher for 25 years— AND this stuff is an obsession autistic special interest of mine. (I love that I can call things that now! So I am not easy to suck in to a writing course online. But I attest: this one is GOOD. She is thorough and juicy and smart, and there are so many ways in to each set of activities and such loving support. A++ recommend! (And, NOT a paid endorsement! Although can pay me if she wants. Haha)

The anti-burnout activities I have been scarfing down like Cheetos. One good one has been from HeadHeartHands, from Beth and Candace. If you’re an academic who finally looked up and said “wtf?!” or if you’re one who dropped to the ground from exhaustion or if you’re one who hates your job sometimes or all the time, they are the ones for you.

Anything I can make time to do/attend/listen to from my favorite ADHD/Autism Coach, Danielle Sullivan of Neurodiverging. This woman has gathered a crew of lovely people AND offers useful and high-level support courses, groups, and podcast. Fellow brain-wranglers, check her out!

The beautiful and loving YA novel You Make the Distant Near by . Did you know she has a new book coming soon from Broadleaf, Just Making: A Guide for Compassionate Creatives, that I am in full excitement mode about? Not going to lie, I have visions of shared events featuring her book alongside InkWell: Simple Writing Practices to Restore Your Soul. Could it come to pass? Either way, I will be Just Making as much as I can.

You. The idea that someone might read what I write and even WRITE MORE with me is electrifying.
