Synopsis City and New Romance

This week I’ve written a synopsis for my witchy fiction novel The Music of Flowers - never one of my favourite writing tasks but I did my best! I’ve now sent the whole package of cover letter, book & synopsis off to the always amazing Literary Consultancy for them to work their editing magic - so am looking foward to the next stage in this project.

I’m continuing to write my MM romance, Jack’s Party. Currently Ralph is wondering if he should update his image for his date with Alec, but actually he's fine as he is ... And he is reassured to find that Alec has hidden depths and copes with his past pretty well. Plus I think I’ve found a place for that spice scene between Ralph & Alec that I wrote a couple of weeks ago, huzzah! 😁

Meanwhile, sassy Liam & I are getting down & dirty with those dangerous twins in The Dangerous Delaneys and Me as we prepare for the upcoming audiobook! Will either of us ever get out alive? 😎 (NB This one is available as a paperback & Kindle at Amazon - including Kindle Unlimited).

I’ve received a NEW 5-star audiobook review for MM office romance Who Moved My Holepunch? 😍 This one contains spice, wit, romance AND an Ofsted college inspection which goes horribly wrong (snort!) - what more could you want? 😎

This week’s poem to greet the new month is called The Gardener's Heart and is found in my poetry collection Learning to Swim. 😍

I’ve read All Good Things by Amanda Prowse: this is a very melodramatic book with a strong hint of Mills & Boon stories. Characters have very emotional conversations with each other which I don't believe would ever happen in real life. The plotlines are also very overdramatised and rather unlikely. I'm afraid I had to skip a lot of the last half of the book. That said, I enjoyed the developing relationship between Cass and Jake. Apart from them, this one was rather tiring.

I’ve also read Crossing The Line by A G Meiers: this a super-spicy & very exciting romantic thriller focusing on family crimes and the support of good friends. I really loved the pairing of Holden, who's down on his luck and needs to clear his name, with Brent, the very talented but spiky lawyer who is keen to help him. The sense of the difficult history these two men share is very well done, and there's a strong enemies to lovers theme powering through the story. I loved the romance and the crime element, and I also really loved the characters found in Jake's Bar. Highly recommended.

Finally, one of the poppies I saved from the garden centre sick plants tray has recovered! 🥳🥳🥳

In rather less positive news, I am currently experiencing rather nasty lower back pain so have gone back to using my walking stick and regular pain pills, groan. Am hoping I can get a doctor’s appointment next week to sort something out - wish me luck! In any case, have a lovely week, everyone.
