e

Easter Sunday arrived quietly in Cork & Dagger Reserve. Too quietly. The kind of quiet that suggests something is either deeply wrong… or HOA-approved. No leaf blowers, no passive-aggressive email blasts, no early-morning compliance walks and no reminders about “proper hose usage for vehicle cleanliness.”

Even the flamingos… were still. The lawn gnomes were not. They sensed a disturbance.

It was then, that a single pastel egg appeared. It was perfectly placed; centered, aligned, in fact, aggressively aligned.

It was smack in front of Margaret’s three time award-winning lawn gnome. The gnome did not like diverted attention.

However, he wrote something down.

At approximately 7:03 a.m., witnesses reported a large, unidentified rabbit. He was moving with purpose, carrying inventory and deploying lovely surprises all over the neighborhood.

By 7:12 a.m., the neighborhood had been overtaken. It was replete with eggs and baskets. They were everywhere!

In driveways, on mailboxes, in shrubs, under statues, and but certainly not least, Margaret’s visibly shaken gnome.

The Bunny did not pause. Why would he? He had a system.

Dale Snitterman emerged and so did Margaret, from the same doorway. It was early, in fact, too early for an HOA meeting (especially on a holiday). We will not elaborate.

With Clipboards in hand, they donned beige shirts, beige energy, beige destiny; whatever that means.

Dale wrote:

“Unauthorized decorative objects.

Violations pending.”

On Easter.

Moments later, an egg struck Dale. Then another, and several more. Children nearby were laughing. Dale… was not.

By 7:19 a.m., Dale had been thoroughly pastel-ized.

Margaret snickered and. wrote three violations. Balance was maintained.

Michael wrote something down.

This was not chaos, it was precision.

Egg placement escalated in Spirals, grids and fibonacci sequences

Reginald nodded as did the Investment Collective.

Someone whispered: “Greg Featherman would not approve. He doesn’t believe in 15th century nonsense.” No one else questioned it.

Reginald stood by the pond beside the extraterrestrial who arrived last week. Both of them were still and focused.

The ET stared at his now pastel-covered spacecraft. He did not understand, But… he respected it.

The ghost-bagging had already shaken him and this did not help.

By 9:00 a.m.:

Featuring:

  • HOP TO COMPLIANCE

  • EGG-CITED BUT CITED

  • PASTEL BUT DEFIANT

  • THIS WASN’T HOA APPROVED

  • SNITTERMAN STRIKES AGAIN

(Back: WE’D LIKE TO STRIKE HIM WITH HIS CLIPBOARD)

  • HAPPY EASTER (CITATION INCLUDED)

Sales were immediate.

Flamingos lined up.

Woodstorks cut.

This was noted, by someone.

Greg Featherman has identified a seasonal opportunity. It involves eggs, and confidence.

💰 Chaosa Moment #6: Investment Collective Response

Emergency meeting. Follow the Greg Featherman Six Point Plan

New asset class:

Seasonal, high-volume decorative commodities.

Thesis:

“If it confuses Dale and boosts merch… it has value.”

Approved unanimously.

The Skunk Ape appeared on the pickleball court. He was holding an egg and evaluating it. He was also accepting snacks.

It seemed like a good idea to grab his new gift-distributing friend and tried to play a round, even though he had not reserved the court. Soon, he and Easter Bunny found out that eggs are not ideal for pickleball…and he was waiting for the wrath of Margaret who mysteriously appeared with every infraction.

A parrot documented everything.

Scratching his head, Michael was adding up the amount of new clients he was obtaining in his practice when he branched out to new niches. Talk about abundance!

When he was in Illinois, his practice was concentrated in Estate Planning. Now, current client list includes:

  • Birds

  • Fish

  • Extraterrestrials

  • Seasonal entities

Michael stated, to Dale Snitterman and his squeeze (did I just say that) Margaret, “You cannot cite merriment.”

Dale attempted to respond. He was still pastel.

An egg appeared in Michael’s hand. Retainer accepted.

Abby sniffed an egg, she paused, looked up and trotted away as it was not steak or lobster.

The Bunny understood and mutual respect was established.

By afternoon the neighborhood was transformed, the HOA was confused and Dale was still softly pastel.

The Bunny was gone and the eggs remained.

Stillness is not absence, it is preparation.

Color is not chaos, it is contrast.

Compliance… is often optional.

“Stillness is suspicious, color is disruptive, compliance is mandatory.”

Filed and

Ignored.

“I laughed.”

“I acknowledge your notice. I do not acknowledge your authority.”

Agenda:

What happened

Can we fine it

Is glitter removable

Outcome:

No.

“I have issued 47 violations, None were acknowledged. This feels personal.”

Chianti Whine Lane

Where Whine Meets Wisdom… and occasionally gets egged.

The Chianti Whine Lane Chronicles is a work of satire and fiction.

Any resemblance to real people, HOAs, overly committed board members, or pastel-related incidents is purely coincidental… and deeply unfortunate.

No flamingos, woodstorks, extraterrestrials, or seasonal rabbits were formally cited in the creation of this episode.

The HOA Board referenced herein is fictional.

(Emotionally accurate, but legally fictional.)
