Anna Z Gray · Things I Would Buy If I Didn’t Have To Pay Rent

Hello friend,

I love weddings a lot. Celebrations of love with all of your friends and family in a beautiful place where everyone is dressed up and we’re eating and drinking and dancing? A dream. Here I am, five-years-old, the first time I was a wedding guest:

Over the next few months, I have three that traverse the same number of climes and countries. Scrolling to the outer edges of the Etsys, eBays, etcs has been my procrastination tactic for the last few weeks so here is a slew of dresses for the guest (and a few for a bride) that I’ve come across during my hunt. Prices in green are under $200. The acronym “NV” is for non-vintage (size range!).

In all likelihood, I will end up wearing something from my own closet. Maybe this skirt. I regret selling this (should I cut my hair again?). My resistance to over-consumption is sharing instead of buying.

  1. Clearly I am drawn to pieces with matching capes!

  2. Click through to see the hem drama. Also comes with a matching shawl that could be… a cape.

  3. Another kind-of cape :) but you could wear this anytime. Knits are dress up/dress down.

  4. One of my weddings is in Athens and this one is very sea siren. On sale!

  1. Gorge, perfect.

  2. Has a really nice back, too. Comes in purple if you prefer.

  3. An argument for rental! Much cheaper than it would be to buy.

  4. Not a car wash hem - just looks like one in the photo. Easy but long enough for black tie.
