Outfits I wore last week - actually the week before last!

I’m a week behind on this as I went to Majorca for a few days with my mum and sister. So, here are the outfits from the week before last. And, as always, if anything is old, I’ve found some alternatives for you.

The holiday was OK ish. I had a bit of a panic attack on the first night which, unfortunately, derailed the rest of my time there.

I had a mammogram a few weeks ago and was called back last Monday for further tests. It was at that appointment that they found something of concern. They said it could be a radial scar, which is a non cancerous growth of hardened tissue that can look a bit like a star shaped scar on a mammogram, but can also mimic cancer. So, I had to have a biopsy to find out exactly what it is.

I get the results this coming Wednesday and, of course, as we all do, I’ve been thinking the worst. On the first night of the holiday, it all came out in the form of a full blown panic attack. I felt sick, convinced I was going to have a seizure (I’m epileptic, so I know what that feels like), and then couldn’t sleep. My sister and I were sharing a room, so I disturbed her sleep too. EEK!

So, my plan for a relaxing few days away actually turned into a bit of a stress filled one, where I was constantly trying to catch up on sleep, not getting much of it, and attempting to stay out of the sun and the unbearable heat.

A bit of a shit show, TBH.

But I’m back at my desk now and trying to stay positive for Wednesday. What else can I do, right?

So, here are all my outfits from the week before last, along with all the links I could find plus some extras…

This stretchy, suck you in bandeau dress is one of those pieces that just does all the work for you. It’s really flattering, holds you in in all the right places and is so easy to dress up or down. For summer, I keep it really simple with sandals, a little choker and my Alaïa bag. But it also works just as well when the weather gets cooler. Throw a blazer over the top and add a pair of boots and you’ve got a completely different look.

I’ve had these shorts for years and they’re still going strong, which is proof that trends really do come back around again and again. I love being able to pull something out of my wardrobe that I bought years ago and make it feel current again. The fringed top is another oldie, this one from M&S. I was originally going to wear it with heeled mules, but in the end decided to dress it down a little with flat sandals for dinner with a friend. Sometimes the more relaxed option just feels right.

I bought this Toteme skirt in Copenhagen about 18 months ago and I still love it just as much as I did then. It’s incredibly light, packs down to practically nothing making it the perfect holiday skirt. I love the balloon shape too, which gives it a bit more interest without feeling too fussy. Here I’ve kept it really simple with a classic tee and flip flops.

Another dress from a few years ago, this time from Tibi, and still very much one of my favourites. I love the shape of it and how easy it is to wear and feel instantly put together. I’ve teamed it with my favourite basket bag from Jenni Kayne, which is just so gorgeous plus I get so many compliments every time I wear it. And, of course, the very same Ancient Greek Sandals making another appearance. Clearly I’m a creature of habit!

I’m so sorry, but this is another old top. You know I like to get the wear out of my clothes and, given my book is all about buying forever pieces, I really do have to practise what I preach! That said, I have found it in red, which I actually also own. The shorts are from Rohe and are 100% silk, with a really great length. I love how they feel relaxed but still look polished. I’ve added my Alaïa mesh sandals for a bit of texture and my Tibi x L.L.Bean tote.

I was very kindly sent both of these pieces from Wiggy Kit and Aspiga and I love them paired together. The linen A line skirt is such a great summer piece and works with so many things already in my wardrobe. I’d wear it with a loose shirt, a knitted vest or even a shirt tied around the waist for a more relaxed look. The top works just as well with baggy jeans and a low heel. I love anything that can be styled in lots of different ways, and this feels chic without trying too hard.

A little white dress is the perfect thing to wear in the heat, and this one by De Rococco is pretty much perfection. I love the length and the shape around the bust, with the little spaghetti straps making it feel really simple and easy. Not one to change the mould, I’ve teamed it with my J.Crew x TKEES flip flops yet again, but this time added this cute Marina Rinaldi beaded bag. I think the bag makes the whole outfit and adds a bit of fun.

So there are my seven outfits from the week before last. I didn’t do one last week as I was away for a few days and, to be honest, it was far too hot to get properly dressed anyway!

Is it just me, or is anyone longing for cooler weather and the start of the Autumn season. I’ve had it with this heat wave, give me blazers, light knits and trousers. I’m even looking forward to putting on a pair of socks!
