Goodbye Instagram

Hello Substack. It’s nice to be here with you again.

I’m not saying goodbye to IG forever, but I’m just not interested in the chaos that it brings to my life. I’m tired of the reels and hooks and madhouse of it all. I plan to share family pictures, snippets of my life, and fun ideas on social media, but not the deeply personal parts of my life anymore.

I miss sharing more raw and vulnerable stories with you. But, I want a quieter space. A slower one. So, here I am.

I deeply hope my words and sometimes my voice can offer you a place to slow down, help you make room for your soul, and as always, connect to God’s love for you.

I’ve been writing poetry recently. Maybe it is more accurate to call them poetry-prose. I hope you enjoy one I wrote the other day.

Windows Down, Please
He rolled down the windows when we left the house. Minutes passed. I didn’t notice until someone in the backseat tried to speak, their voice muffled like they were underwater.
Then I rolled down my window.
The summer heat pooled into the car. I turned my face toward it. The air was warm and cool and like summer was stroking its way through my skin and into my soul.
I never considered that God was in the actual wind, but now I’m convinced He absolutely is.
I closed my eyes and wondered why I didn’t roll down my window minutes ago.
Such regret.
