The rewrite is done

A labor of love and horror, once again. A Taste For Lunacy has been rewritten to the screenplay Animamina. The title comes in the vein of an A24 film. Something stylistic. Cultish horror. Concepts of supernatural. Elements of historical fiction.

Again, the story is inspired by my time spent in forensic psychiatry at Napa State Hospital. https://www.dsh.ca.gov/Napa/ Probably the first time in my life that I was perpetually scared at my job. But it was enlightening. I learned how psychiatry has evolved over decades, from the old institutional model of psychiatric care, to surgical care, to medication management. The integration of behavioral models. Group therapy.

It was all there. All right there for me to see, discover, learn about, experience, and benefit from the words and experiences of the inmates themselves.

It’s here, in Animamina. There is the supernatural. There is horror. Definitely lots of horror. Body horror. Gore. Medical procedures.
