State of Our Race

Hi folks,

I just got out of a meeting with my team, and I wanted to quickly recap the state of my race now that we’re just four days out from my Primary Election Day.

1. This race is going to come down to a razor thin margin.

15% of Minnesotans remain undecided and the polls are changing dramatically. One thing that hasn’t changed is the fact that MAGA Michele Tafoya is the Republican frontrunner in this race. That’s why it’s critical that we elect a Democrat with a track record of going up against the GOP and winning against their megamillions. This race isn’t just about red versus blue; it’s about what’s best for Minnesotan families and the future of our country.

2. Minnesota will determine whether or not Democrats regain Senate control.

We have a chance to hold Minnesota’s U.S. Senate seat and keep Democrats’ path to the majority alive. But if we lose Minnesota, Democrats’ already narrow path becomes nearly impossible. Political experts have identified our race in Minnesota as one of the most competitive in the country. The Republican Party believes Minnesota is winnable, and there has been a red wave creeping up into our state the past few election cycles. And what happens if Republicans keep control of the Senate? We’ll see continued attacks on health care and more tax cuts for billionaires while working families struggle and our fundamental rights will be ripped away, one by one. We have to do everything we can to make sure that doesn’t happen.

3. Your support is still making a difference.

Republican super PACs have poured millions of dollars into this race to defeat me and prop up their MAGA lies. They’ve built a massive infrastructure to defeat Democrats across the country — but I refuse to let them win. Every dollar you give is immediately spent to keep our ads up on TV. There are still folks who haven’t voted, who we’re still working around the clock to reach. We’re spending everything down to $0, which means we’re not playing it safe. We’re using every resource at our disposal to make sure that the best candidate wins — and yes, that is me.

I get it, there are a lot of priorities demanding your attention day to day, but I need you to make our race in Minnesota one of them — especially since there are only four days left before final ballots are cast. There’s too much at stake for us to have regrets about what we could have or should have done to defeat MAGA Michele Tafoya.
