Why do I feel so meh about my reading?

July has been…. meh. I don’t know if it’s the let-down from a long trip or what, but I just haven’t had much energy for anything lately. My knees are feeling better, but it’s still hard to move around. My reading has followed suit. With the exception of one book, it’s taking me longer to read books. I’m hoping to jump start it all and get back to normal or better. One thing I have done is revisit my goals for the year and added something. I realized that I really want to read all of the free books I’ve gotten through Amazon Prime over the last decade. So I went back and counted and I’ve read three so far. So from here on out, I’ll be including them here.

My plan this year is to do a check-in in the middle of the month as a way of holding myself accountable for my reading goals. ⭐️ I won’t be posting reviews (I’ll save that for my monthly roundup as always), but I will give a few quick thoughts, focusing on how it fits with the goals.

📚Book of the Month 📚

I haven’t read one, but I do have several in my Currently Reading folder, so I should finish at least one by the end of July.

🔖Amazon First Reads🔖

I’ve read one so far this month- Natural Selection by Elin Hilderbrand. I liked it.

📖 Advance Reader Copies 📖

Two of the books I’ve read were advance reader copies- one from 2023 and one from 2025.

✍️Authors ✍️

I haven’t finished any authors so far this month.

💖 Series 💖

I read the next book in the ROAR series.

I’ve read six books so far this month, so it’s not bad. I think things will start picking up!

So how is your reading going so far? I’d love to hear if you have any goals and how they are going or anything else!

Happy reading . . . always 📚🍰
