London Literary Excellence Award!

Hello Everyone!

Hey friends! I’ve been frantically revising Sea Dragon Apocalypse in hopes of launching it for the New Year. Jan/Feb are usually the best months for fantasy and sci-fi releases so all of my energy is going there. I still have space for some ARC readers/reviewers if anyone is interested - just respond to this email - and keep an eye open for updates on Substack.

For those of you who may have missed my last newsletter: after winning Reader’s House Editor’s Choice of Literary Excellence Award and my feature in Reader’s House magazine, I got featured in 190 countries and in a few thousand U.S. based media outlets. A few magazines did their own features. A new magazine release just hit the internet last week.

Here’s what a few of them had to say:

MOSAIC DIGEST

“A master of genre-blending, Drew Briney stands as one of speculative fiction’s most inventive voices.”

NOVELIST POST

“Briney’s inventive storytelling, emotional depth, and fearless genre fusion establish him as a visionary author redefining modern speculative fiction with intellect and heart.”

AUTHOR ESSENCE

“Drew Briney stands at the forefront of modern speculative fiction, writing stories that refuse to sit neatly within a single genre. His work lives at the intersection of technology, mysticism, and philosophical inquiry, expanding the boundaries of what sci-fi and fantasy can achieve. …

His narratives are spectacular in scale yet intimately grounded, always driven by a deep curiosity about human nature.

For Briney, genre-blending is not a stylistic choice but a philosophy: a way to examine justice, resilience, and what it means to remain human in the face of extraordinary change.”

NEWYOX

“Briney’s books challenge readers to confront the ethical dilemmas of technological advancement while reveling in the imaginative possibilities of combining magic and science.”

There were very few promotions for my genres this season - it seems romance and erotica are taking over all of the promotions … HOWEVER, a few fellow authors have some book features I thought you might be interested in. There they are:

Zera’s life as a Volcan Knight shatters when she discovers an ancient sacred order’s dark secret: Project Reversal, an experiment that created the monsters that killed her daughter. Together with Sam, her steadfast partner, and a team of loyal Knights, she ventures into abandoned facilities and treacherous mountains, following the trail of a mysterious predecessor named Kael.

As Zera’s powers grow stronger, so do the attacks from the Devourers, who seem to hunt them with newfound intelligence. Deep beneath the city, in forgotten tunnels and hidden chambers, a horrifying revelation awaits. Each step closer to the truth reveals more corruption within the ancient Volcan Order, forcing Zera to question everything she believes.

If the Knights fail to expose the truth behind Project Reversal, the price will be paid in more than just lives. But what happens when the protectors become the threat they’ve sworn to eliminate? Click on the image for more information.

Kit Stablefield is a detective with a secret and a crush on a guy she knows only online, in a future where magic is a part of everyday life. But when millionaire Aleshu Coro walks into the offices of Darcko and Sadatake with a message from the Murder Prophet and fourteen days to live, everything changes. Suddenly Kit is questioning the decisions of her past, trying to find out if the man she loves is, in fact, a man, and hunting for a murderer and a mysterious seer. With her eighty-six-year-old grandmother insisting on helping out, and a sentient goose who simply won’t stop pestering her to watch his “killer” video game moves, Kit has more than her hands full as she races against the clock to prevent Coro’s murder…and possibly her own. A powerful sorceress
A cursed knight

A cryptic prophecy

A.D. 1356

Padric thinks his recent assignment as lieutenant knight of quiet Chaddesden, Derbyshire, should be easy enough to manage. Until villagers disappear under mysterious circumstances, and the task falls on Padric to find them. However, his investigations become complicated when a cryptic prophecy charges him to rescue the villagers and find an ancient artifact before the solstice.

As though that weren’t enough, days later, the mastermind behind the chaos is revealed: a powerful sorceress. Their encounter leaves Padric cursed, transformed into a creature out of ancient Roman mythology, half-man and half-beast.
