Thank you all for your support - whether you just joined my newsletter or you’ve been with me for years now - all of your ARC reviews and regular reviews have been a great help in slowly gaining me international attention. After winning Reader’s House Editor’s Choice of Literary Excellence Award and my feature in Reader’s House magazine (as seen below), I got featured in 190 countries and in a few thousand U.S. based media outlets.
A few magazines did their own features.
Here’s what a few of them had to say:
MOSAIC DIGEST
“A master of genre-blending, Drew Briney stands as one of speculative fiction’s most inventive voices.”
NOVELIST POST
“Briney’s inventive storytelling, emotional depth, and fearless genre fusion establish him as a visionary author redefining modern speculative fiction with intellect and heart.”
AUTHOR ESSENCE
“Drew Briney stands at the forefront of modern speculative fiction, writing stories that refuse to sit neatly within a single genre. His work lives at the intersection of technology, mysticism, and philosophical inquiry, expanding the boundaries of what sci-fi and fantasy can achieve. …
His narratives are spectacular in scale yet intimately grounded, always driven by a deep curiosity about human nature. …
For Briney, genre-blending is not a stylistic choice but a philosophy: a way to examine justice, resilience, and what it means to remain human in the face of extraordinary change.”
NEWYOX
“Briney’s books challenge readers to confront the ethical dilemmas of technological advancement while reveling in the imaginative possibilities of combining magic and science.”
Meanwhile, my “final” edit of Sea Dragon Apocalypse is turning into a major revision. I’m still shooting for the end of the month (disasters excepted) and released soon after but between updating all of my website, social media, etc. to feature the new award, I got a bit behind. I’m still looking for ARC reviewers if you’re interested. Just let me know now and you’ll be first in line.
No worries if you don’t have any experience. ARC reviewers are basically reading the book early and prepare to leave reviews when the book is released to help boost the launch. I’ll send a link showing how to write good reviews without taking a lot of time (and it’s easier than you probably expect) when I send you a copy of the book. If you’re unsure, you can read a preview (I’ll be adding material for the final book but the core story is solid - and I updated chapter 1) here:

Gathering promos for you to find free and discounted books takes 2-3 hours per newsletter (and a little extra for the follow up emails) and writing this newsletter often takes another hour or more to prepare (the links) and write.
If you could take three seconds to share this post OR to share my newsletter (just press the buttons below), I would very much appreciate your support!
or maybe spot me some Elvish Tea for second breakfast?
