Drumroll please, I’d like to introduce to you my NEW CARAVAN!

Here it is, a cute-as-a-button 2022 Kimberley Caravans Elddis Xplore Activ 304.

I ordered this caravan at the tail end of 2021, and finally it’s here! As I write I am in Stirlingshire on the way down to Kimberley of Darlington to collect my new baby in a couple of day’s time.

The Xplore 304 was one of 10 caravans on my personal shortlist which was:

  • Adria Action 391PD

  • Adria Altea Aire

  • Airstream International 534

  • Bailey Discovery D4-4

  • Elddis Xplore 304

  • Eriba Ocean Drive

  • Swift Basecamp 4

  • Swift Conqueror 560

  • T@b 400

  • Weinsberg 390QD

Check out this video here to see how I chose the Xplore, and how the same process might also help anyone else who is bamboozled by choice. Obviously, we are all very different, and what is on my shortlist will be very different to what’s on the shortlist of others.

There will be LOTS AND LOTS of coverage of the new little caravan coming up very soon, and I hope you are as excited about it as I am.

Great news!

I’ve been invited back to the NEC, to speak in the Inspiration Theatre every day at the Motorhome and Caravan Show 2022.

Following on from the rip-roaring success of February, the October show is set to be bigger and better than ever. Each day I’ll be giving a talk about visiting the GrossGlockner High Alpine Road, as per my visit with Sophia in the Dethleffs Trend a couple of short weeks ago. I’ll be going behind the scenes and giving some practical information to help you plan your visit. There are rumours that there might also be some discussion forums for people interested in towing with an EV, but that’s to be confirmed yet. Either way, you can always grab me at the show for a chat!

I’ve got five pairs of FREE TICKETS to give away!

To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is subscribe to this Newsletter if you are not a subscriber already, and leave a comment to answer this simple question:

When you are looking to buy a new caravan, motorhome, or camper van, what are your top THREE priorities?

Your answer might include price, dimensions, feel-good factor, a fixed bed, an island bed, a space for the dog bed, a 100 litre water tank… whatever is important to YOU, I want to hear about it!

The five winners will be chosen at random in a Live Broadcast on my YouTube Channel at 7pm UK time on Bank Holiday Monday 29th August 2022. I’ll be in Düsseldorf at the time, so if we’re lucky we might even get some special guests to select the winners.

If you’d rather not enter, or if you enter and don’t win, I’ve also got a discount code that offers a modest reduction on the price of tickets for you. Head to https://mcshow.co.uk and use the code MCAJD. You’ll be able to buy tickets (subject to availability) for £11.50 until midnight on 17th October, after which time they’ll increase to £15.00. A £1.25 transaction fee applies, but as numbers are capped once again, you won’t be able to buy tickets at the door.

I look forward to reading all your answers, and I’ll SEE YOU THERE!

Being a bit of a train and transport geek, I’ve always enjoyed the videos created by Geoff Marshall. Geoff has boundless energy and enthusiasm for his subject, which he couples with great film making skills to make his content highly watchable and engaging.

However, he recently posted a video called I’ve Not Been Happy, telling a story of the trauma he has been suffering over the past two years intertwined with a road trip to the USA.

I can’t put my finger on why, but I found it to be a compelling and thought-provoking watch.

It certainly goes to show that, as Geoff points out, it doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, we all go through pain at some points in our lives.

How to Support Streamlining

There are two ways you can support me and this newsletter:

1. If you wish, you can show your support for what I do through Buy Me a Coffee. Although I’ll probably end up buying tea. Or snacks for Dougal.

I understand that not everyone who would like to will be in a position to support in this way, and that’s absolutely fine! My content is available to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.

2. Most importantly, please subscribe and share Streamlining with those who you think will enjoy it.
