Hi all, today is auspicious for many reasons - first, presenting the 3rd and final “Know Your Cyclops” (although it’s always possible that we’ll revisit in the future, who knows?), second, today marks ten years since we started posting MEMO (the comic strip) - more on this another - I’m in a bit of a crunch time in my personal life so no time to do it justice now, and third, welcome to those who saw the ad for this strip in the 80th anniversary program for the National Cartoonists Society event happening this weekend. :)
Next, it seems to me that the Jimothy thing has (finally) worn itself out but it was fun to draw him and glad that I could find a way to include him in the cyclops series. (and, personally, I’ve been glad for a bit of a distration - from all the other distractions that are being thrown at us these days - it was at least harmless).
Finally, a short note about the first panel - “Eye of the Storm” is a real book by a friend of mine, Chuck Gomez, and you can find it on Amazon (along with his first book, “Cuban Son Rising”). I have not read “Eye of the Storm” yet, but “Cuban Son Rising” is really moving and beautifully written; I have no doubt that “Eye” is as well done. :)
I’m off on a mini-vacation to Philadelphia this weekend and will be back posting next week. Lots of fun stuff planned. In the meantime, take care and be on the lookout for the next episode of “The Nanny & The Professor”- Episode 24 - Kitty Coroner!
