Hi, welcome to this unfolding project.
I’m writing this introduction as an invitation to think together.

My goal is for this space to engage in what often feels split apart: the concrete and the abstract, the structural and the intimate.
On the one hand, you can expect essays and analyses on politics, economics, and institutions most associated with the social systems that organize the world.
On the other hand, I believe questions related to culture, the psyche, art, and the power of ideas and social narratives remain deeply relevant and immersed in the human experience and its role in re-imagining what we can accomplish together.
The reality is: economic and political systems are sustained by stories, by fears, by fantasies, by deeply embedded assumptions about human nature and society. And at the same time, our inner lives, our anxieties, our sense of agency or powerlessness, are profoundly structured and organized by the economic and political conditions we inhabit.
This Substack is an attempt to hold both at once.
I’ll be writing about economic policy and political strategy, but also about culture, psychoanalysis, and the deeper narratives that organize collective life. Sometimes that will mean breaking down complex ideas or commenting on public policy debates. Other times it will mean stepping into more personal or theoretical terrain whether by unpacking my own adventures in scholarship and political activism or the philophoical traditions that have changed my life.
The goal is not just to interpret the world, but to expand what feels possible within it.
And to do that, this space will also be a workshop.
Some of what I publish, especially for paid subscribers, will be early versions of larger projects I’m developing. Pieces of books in progress. Fragments of ideas that are still being shaped. This includes work that will eventually become part of longer-form writing, including projects that blend personal narrative, social theory, and political analysis.
If you subscribe, you’re not just getting “extra content.” You’re stepping into my process itself—seeing how ideas develop, become tested, refined, and sometimes completely reworked.
We’re living through a moment of real instability—economic, political, even civilizational. Old assumptions are breaking down, but what replaces them is still unclear. In moments like this, analysis alone isn’t enough. We need new ways of thinking, but also new ways of imagining, feeling, and relating to the world.
That’s what I’m here for.
To think creatively yet rigorously.
To connect what is usually kept apart.
Hopefully, to bring some value into your own intellectual and creative journey.
And, ultimately, to begin building something different out of the crisis we’re in.
I’m glad you’re here.
Andrés
