So why are we handing the most powerful gatekeeper job in Washington to a corporate lobbyist?
Not a policy warrior. Not a reformer. Not a bulldog who came in to break the machine. A lobbyist. The exact class of people Trump voters have been begging him to stop feeding.
Let me be crystal clear about what this job is. The White House Chief of Staff is the filter. The firewall. The bouncer. The person who decides what reaches the President, what gets buried, who gets a meeting, who gets iced out, and which “priorities” magically rise to the top. This blog is my breakdown of the Public Citizen report on Susie Wiles and her lobbying history, including who she worked for, what she pushed, and why it matters now.
And according to Public Citizen’s report (linked below), Susie Wiles was a registered federal lobbyist starting in November 2017 and remained registered until at least April 2024.
That is not ancient history. That is the swamp, in real time, walking into the West Wing.
