There’s a hunger and excitement that comes with restarting. I felt it when I did, and I still have it. The unknown can be so alluring that it leaves you wanting more than what you already have.
But no one talks about how hard it is to start over.
I would compare restarting to being a ballet dancer. From the audience, everything looks perfect: the beautiful sets, the story, the music, and the dancers moving effortlessly across the stage. You step onto the stage and dance through perfect choreography, presenting a fantastical world with confidence, as if you know exactly what you’re doing.
But what the audience rarely sees is what happens behind the curtain: the countless hours of practice, the physical pain, the gasping for air, the mental exhaustion, and the moments when you wonder if it’s all worth it. Restarting feels much the same.
From the outside, it can look like you’ve seamlessly stepped into a new chapter. Behind the scenes, however, you’re learning the choreography of a life you’ve never danced before.
