Andra Watkins · For Such a Time as This

I sometimes wish readers could sit with me while I create newsletters, because my husband just laughed out loud as I very dramatically read some of today’s points. I will try to replicate that in today’s recording. Maybe it will make this dark, scary WCN lunacy a bit lighter.

Today we continue our deep dive into a White Christian Nationalist manifesto on Biblical Medical Ethics. Readers who missed this week’s earlier newsletters can catch up at the links below:

And Paid Subscribers can catch a recording of yesterday’s live discussion, where we expand on this topic, below:

I’ve been making prescient information since January 2024. If you value information that looks ahead to what could happen if we don’t stop White Christian Nationalists and their billionaire overlords instead of rehashing what happened yesterday or last week, hit the button below and Upgrade to Paid.

I don’t know how to prepare readers for today’s Biblical Medical Ethics batshittery, other than to remind everyone that WCN Biblical Medical Ethics don’t only apply to religious hospitals. In today’s United States, they are also forced upon many Red state teaching hospitals, which has downstream impacts in every nook and cranny of the country. Including Blue state residents who think they’re immune.

10. Sin And Disease

We affirm that the ultimate cause of all disease, deformity, disability, and death is the sin of Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:17b; Romans 5:12: I Corinthians 15:21, 22).

How many times - HOW MANY - have I warned Americans that White Christian Nationalists believe ALL human infirmity is caused by SIN and the fall of man as described in the Genesis Garden of Eden story?

Now when you try to explain this concept to someone, and they say That Andra Watkins is a ridiculous hysterical harpy and I don’t know why you listen to her, you can send them to this website where actual WCN medical doctors wrote the highlighted sentence, published it in a book, and put it on the internet.

Readers who are unfamiliar with the White Christian Nationalist concept of SIN can find a deep dive I did on 7 May 2024 below. Because as I said then and have repeated often since, EVERYTHING OTHER THAN GOING TO CHURCH, READING THE BIBLE, PRAYING, WITNESSING, AND DOING CHURCH-ADJACENT THINGS IS SIN TO A WHITE CHRISTIAN NATIONALIST:

As you continue to read, please understand that legislators like Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, Mike Johnson, Steve Scalise, Tommy Tuberville, Marsha Blackburn, and I could go on and on and on and on and on, believe the highlighted statements below. JD Vance believes the highlighted statements below. Real people who have real power believe what’s below.

11. Death

We affirm that spiritual death is immeasurably worse than physical death (Matthew 10:28b; Revelation 20:14, 15).

We deny that treatment of the physical body is the highest priority for the health-care worker (Matthew 10:28b; I Timothy 4:8b).

In case anyone wondered why Republicans seem so determined to destroy US healthcare…treating physical ailments caused by an individual’s SINFUL choices isn’t the highest priority for the healthcare worker.

Because they say that, too.

12. Sins And Disease

We affirm that medical problems are very frequently caused by personal sins (Proverbs 23:1921, 29-34; I Corinthians 3:17; 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10).

When we covered The Heritage Foundation’s Saving America by Saving the Family, the family - and specifically the submissive wife - is the locus for healthcare provision and caregiving. Taking care of SINFUL family members who are ill, infirm, or simply old, is a wife’s unpaid responsibility in the family.

Which is another reason young women are being pink-pilled, women are being run out of the workforce, and funding is being slashed for long-term care. White Christian Nationalists believe women need to suck it up and do this labor. Cheerfully. With a humble, joyful spirit.

7. The Family’s Responsibility

We affirm that the primary responsibility for health maintenance, disease prevention, and medical care resides with the family, as it is defined Biblically (Genesis 2:24; Exodus 20:12, 14; Ephesians 5:226:4).

We deny that optimal health can be achieved without the assumption of this primary responsibility, and that minor children should ever be treated for any medical problem, except in an emergency that is clearly life-threatening, without the consent of one or both parents (Genesis 2:24; Exodus 20:12. 14).

Remember when I warned that White Christian Nationalists do not believe in therapy or medications to treat mental illness? And lots of Americans rolled their eyes and said That can’t be true?

Here you go.

8. Mental Health

We affirm that spiritual regeneration and Biblical obedience are absolutely essential to a Biblical concept of mental health (Ephesians 4:916; II Timothy 1:7; James 1:6-8).

We deny that psychiatrists can promote mental health without evangelism of their unsaved patients and a thorough application of Biblical principles for their Christian patients (Nehemiah 8:10b; Psalm 90:10; I Corinthians 15:1-19; II Corinthians 5:17).

The points in this manifesto are guiding decisions to strip Americans of the ACA and access to health insurance.

A manifesto like this one is driving cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and the VA.

The tenets of this manifesto have caused the largest US measles outbreak in recent memory, a cratering of vaccinations, and the near-constant spread of other preventable diseases and conditions.

Directives in WCN manifestos like this one have cut gender-affirming care, access to reproductive healthcare, and reductions in mental healthcare.

Every persuadable voter needs to vote in the midterms. Healthcare might be a good lever to approach your connections. Share this newsletter with people you know, and offer to have one-on-one or group conversations. You might convince a few more people to show up and vote in November.
