every summer, someone visits san francisco in a tank top and leaves in a fleece they bought at walgreens. for the past week, I have been packing on every single blanket I own before I fall asleep - I am somehow colder now than I was in the dead of winter, but it’s like that one quote that all of the city’s residents love to bring up, "the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in san francisco”
as cold as it gets, I really do love the fog and our reverse summer. it’s romantic, it’s slow, and it gives you permission to do absolutely nothing. here are my favorite ways to slow down and enjoy the fog:
put on a playlist that matches the gray outside - my cozy jazz + soul playlist linked here
go somewhere with a fireplace (I sit here and type as I shiver in my living room, I wish north beach had working fireplaces!!!) the fireplace spots:
fiorella (sunset) - my favorite fiorella location; just so happens to be huge
fireside (inner sunset) - old school cozy vibe
foreign cinema (mission) - one of the prettiest restaurants in the city
wow, really hitting the alliteration here
