It’s feeling very January here.
Also I fell down the stairs this week (I’m fine, just a little bruised and embarrassed) so all in all, very January.
It’s a short one today because there’s just not much going on - again, January.
I’m continuing to build up pieces to strengthen my children’s illustration portfolio and had a burst of inspiration this week! I created this piece based on a childhood memory of mine - a wall I used to climb to let the cows in the field lick my wellies!
I’m feeling really happy with this one; I feel like it really represents me as an artist and my current style. I tried to embrace just drawing how I wanted (basically, I find rendering tedious so I just chose not to do it anymore) and it felt really freeing and almost (almost) captured the feeling of drawing as a kid for fun again.
Grey rainy days call for pastry endorphins and warming stews!
I tried out this Somerset Chicken recipe this week and it was delicious! I also made a few standard mid-week repeat family meals that are pretty reliable, if you’re after that kind of thing!
This Green Bean Mac ‘n’ Cheese always goes down well.
This Parsnip Soup is super easy, cheap and tastes way better than it should with so few ingredients!
I’ve found some time to play on my shiny new Switch 2 this week and really enjoying Pokemon Legends Z-A as well as the Animal Crossing update.
We also started playing Grounded with some friends and it’s fun! I’m managing without turning arachnophobia mode on so far but the big spiders are definitely… unwelcome.
Short and sweet today! I hope you have a great Sunday!
