I'm back!

I’m back!!

For the last little while, I’ve had to take a break from regular blogging for various reasons. (See this post for more details.)

Things are on a more even keel at last and I’m looking forward to posting regularly again!

One of the benefits of stepping back from something is that it enables you to see it in a new light.

I’ve been working with writers for years and have taught a wide range of topics within the writing field, but last month I had the privilege of running a class that focused specifically on how to build a novel that delivers a Christian message without being “preachy.”

Teaching that class revealed to me how great the need is for specific, in-depth training on this particular topic.

This is also an area that is very close to my heart and that I have a lot of experience in.

So, in the coming months, you will notice that I’ll be posting a lot more about fiction writing.

But I know that many of you don’t write fiction! So, I will still be writing posts that are relevant for all Christian writers and that focus on the Christian writing journey in a more general way.

I’ve also developed a new mission statement for Christian Wordsmiths!

As I launch into coming months, I thought now would be a good time to share it with you:

Christian Wordsmiths exists to equip Christian storytellers to communicate biblical truth with grace, authenticity, and confidence, providing them with practical training in the writing craft and supporting them in keeping their eyes fixed on Jesus Christ as they shine His light through their words.
