Some might say schadenfreude, but I couldn’t possibly comment.
Last night, the CBS Evening News finally featured information about the large number of fake daycare centers and reported multi-billion-dollar fraud in Minnesota which had been covered by Nick Shirley on X starting on December 23.
At least since 2015 or so, conservatives have been yelling “fake news” about “mainstream media” and they have their own networks and platforms, also since that time. If you are a “liberal Democrat” with a white collar job living in a Democratic party-dominated enclave like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis/St. Paul, or Chicago, you’d have to be living under a gigantic rock to not think that Fox News, Truth Social (Trump’s platform) and X are all “fake news” and 100% of what is broadcast via those sites is also false or fake information.
I didn’t cause my baby’s death back in 2005, either, but that didn’t prevent me from being forced to stand trial at Ed Edelman’s Children’s Court in Monterey Park, either. That took three months and cost me about $35,000, not inclusive of the funds I was required to spend to move back to my hometown of Redlands since I was never going to live in the house where Lali died again.
I couldn’t understand why a man, especially a full professor like Brian Stonehill (deceased — and no, relatives of Stonehill, you are not ‘entitled to sue me’), would want to hurt me. Hit me, knock me out, tie me up, burn, bruise, and rape me. As I’ve written before, I believed this crime was “my fault” even after being in a rape crisis group and being helped by others.
I knew that I’d been badly frightened by the CHP officer that pulled me over when I was driving to La Mesa from Redlands on a long-ago holiday morning, and felt a little bit bad because nobody believed me when I said how strangely he’d acted and how much he scared me. After all, there’s no such thing as a criminal CHP officer, right? Did you know that poor Cara Knott’s father had a heart attack while visiting the small park that her family and friends had created at the bottom of that “bridge to nowhere” where CHP killer Craig Peyer hit her in the head and threw her to her death?
Hundreds of people have gotten jobs because of me. My referral or my paying attention, encouraging them, or recommending them. The young woman whose little boy was so hungry on that long-ago day at Family Service Association became the office manager at a big, busy car dealership. Many of my former students and colleagues at different jobs advanced because of my recommendations, directions, and encouragement.
The worst wrongdoing I’ve ever done in my life, after stealing bubblegum as a kid and getting called into the store manager’s office for it, would be throwing cigarette butts on the ground. As a young adult, I did consider “dining and dashing” but decided not to, when I was told the server would be made to pay the bill. I’ve gotten a couple of speeding tickets, and some parking tickets. And yes, I’ve driven when I shouldn’t have: under the influence of alcohol or simply being too tired to drive safely.
Have I lied on my resume? No. Never. But Jeffrey Epstein did, and nothing happened to him.
Have I lied at work, or to fill out one of the many grant applications and reports I’ve made? No, but sounds like hundreds of people representing these day care centers with no children or health programs with no sick people have.
Can I say the same for you, dear white, wealthy, upper middle class “liberals”? Gee whiz. I remember some of you taking part-time college instructors’ classes (including mine) which were held at times you previously thought were undesirable, such as 6:00 a.m., at night, or on weekends, so you could add the pay for those classes to your already generous retirement pay.
How about standing up for innocent victims of crime? Like the gymnasts who Larry Nassar put his hands inside of, over and over, painfully, for long exams while he lied and told them it was medically necessary? Lou Anna Simon, the former president of Michigan State University, is a wealthy white, upper middle class lady, and do you know what she did when more than one top collegiate gymnast said what Larry Nassar did to her? Why, Dr. Simon (I do not even need to look to see that she has a Ph.D) made immediate calls: to the FBI to shut the young women up and protect her self and the school.
People like the good Dr. of Education Lou Anna Simon are mainstays of our society!
Without the “good judgment” of people like her, men like Larry Nassar might have to pay sex workers to stick his hands up inside of them instead of being able to do it to our nation’s Olympic champions … for free!
People like Lou Anna Simon, Penn State’s Joe Paterno, and former Vice President and Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, a woman who is so admired, and for such great cause (dropping the prosecutions of dozens of pedophile priests in San Francisco’s Catholic Diocese, for the harm done to hundreds of victims over decades) and even current U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi (still protecting the large number of men and women who harmed young girls as part of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s network): these are the mainstays of our U.S. society, the freest, richest, most “Democratic” country in the world!

So, the statistics are that 1 out of every 5 young women and girls, and 1 out of every 20 young men and boys, are sexually molested or assaulted in the U.S. This has been reported for decades. So, there are about 80 million young women/girls and 78 million young men/boys in the U.S. The most recent figures for any type of incarceration for rape and other types of sexual assault (including child molestation) are from the 1990s, and they state that there are about 234,000 sex offenders either in custody or registered following their release.
This system is widely known as the “criminal justice system” and that’s an excellent name because what it has always offered is justice: for wealthy or even moderately well-off white criminals. Everyone else? So sorry, you might get help from the Innocence Project if you are on Death Row based on eyewitness testimony.
It’s a wonder how Jeffrey Epstein ended up in Federal custody and wasn’t prevented from taking his own life and “cheating justice.”
I was an orphan.

Was it a Black girl? Maybe.
I have the distinction of two former students being the ones to write recommendation letters for me for “Teach for America” back in 2017 or so. One of those students is an attorney in Chicago (but when he was in my classes, he was in danger of being flunked out of school and kicked off the football team) now and my other student, who was absolutely the best and a successful concert promoter in our local area, well … man he has to sell insurance these days to get by … so I would have done Teach for America too, except my pay was going to start at $20,000 a year and my choices of place to teach were either Baltimore or Iowa.
I am absolutely the great-granddaughter of Nallie Sexton Doak, whose parents’ house burned down in Columbia, MO when she was a teen, and who graduated from Stephens College with a degree in math at age 13, and the granddaughter of Miriam Glasband, who emigrated to the United States from Berdichev, Ukraine, also at age 13, and within three years had learned English, assumed her cousin’s place in a Pharmacy program at Columbia University, and eventually became the first licensed female pharmacist in California.
I am the daughter of Sterling Sturtevant, who did the “redesign” of Mr. Magoo, which was based on my father. My mother was an Academy Award and Cannes Golden Palm-winning animation art director.
I think all, including my mother, because my mother and father helped people during the 1950s Hollywood Blacklist. They let performers like Lenny Bruce stay at their house in Hollywood, would laugh at my foolish naivete, thinking any of these systems, businesses, organizations, elected officials, were worth a fucking bag of warm spit, ever.
The more awards and recognition people demand, the more obeisance, the less it is deserved.

Let me put it to you this way. The story about Lou Anna Simon at Michigan State is true. When gymnasts told administrators (including her) that Larry Nassar was putting his hands inside their vaginas and painfully groping about while grunting and ejaculating semen on their bodies during medical exams to authorize them for competition, Simon responded by calling the FBI. To silence the young athletes.
What about that says “What a great school Michigan State is, why every degree from that school is fantastic and signals top achievement, same for all their athletic programs!”
When Kamala Harris, and here I am criticizing this woman who’s about my age, such an amazing leader and role model, was elected District Attorney in San Francisco, her predecessor had the prosecutions for dozens of pedophile priests prepared. Depositions had already been taken from hundreds of victims. These victims had been waiting for justice for years.
And they are still waiting.
Harris could not even speak coherently on television during her candidacy and I guess … that’s Donald Trump’s fault, huh.
Many people drink too much alcohol out of a sense of guilt, unhappiness, depression, or anxiety. They mix pills with it, too.
I do understand that people like Simon, Harris — and Trump, do what they do or fail to do what they should because they lack consciences, but maybe Harris does drink because she knows there are hundreds of suffering victims she screwed over because … aww … it couldn’t have been bribery, could it?

I just looked at how many BILLIONS allocated to “combat homelessness” in my former city of Los Angeles. And the situation is apocalyptic, third-world (which is becoming the first world because there’s so many fewer of YOU in those countries), and irredeemable. Pacific Palisades, one of the highest net worth communities in the L.A. Basin, still not a single structure rebuilt after almost a year. Wonderful Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was just collecting toys for “undocumented children threatened by ICE.”
Who knows how many payments for grift and graft she really collected for her self and those who pull her strings.
