This Saturday = The Art Parade
Presented by LACMA in collaboration with Jeffrey Deitch as part of the Block Party during the David Geffen Galleries Grand Opening Weekend. The parade will be the culminating event of the Block Party, after a day of free museum access, music, food, and family-focused art activities across campus at LACMA.
A Sky of Stitches by Yarn Bombing Los Angeles
A Sky of Stitches will be a moving, handcrafted installation of yarnbombed knitted and crocheted (and stitched!) umbrellas and parasols. Worn and carried by our artists as we walk in the parade, each umbrella acts as sculpture and shelter, a colorful canopy symbolizing the unity, care, and creative resilience that makes Los Angeles unique.
Yarn Bombing Los Angeles envisions a river of color weaving its way through Wilshire Boulevard, transforming cast-off rain gear into radiant, joyful emblems of community art. Each piece will be carried by the artist, custom-designed and adorned with recycled and repurposed fibers, and bear motifs inspired by Los Angeles’s rich cultural tapestry, from blooming jacarandas to iconic buildings and cityscapes to coastal sunsets.
Participating Artists: Renaissance Austin, Amy Bauer, A. Laura Brody, Sandy Dingman, Melissa Federowicz, Frannie Garretson, Enzo Gott, Joe Gott, Zephyr Gott, Megan Herting, Francesca Innocenti, Gem Lagonoy, Charlotte Marshall, Lauri Mraz, David Orozco, Eve Orozco, Lily Orozco, Max Orozco, Pacific Palisades Art Association, Teresa Rachilla. Sylvia Reyes, Amy Starbin, Sarah Todd, Darlyn Susan Yee.

LACMA, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art
The D (Purple) Line now brings you directly to LACMA at the Wilshire/Fairfax station. And with the amount of people attending this may be the best way there.
