Rides, Talks and Walks this week.

On Thursday May 21st at 7pm PST I will be the guest artist for the Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art. It is a live talk via zoom.

I’ll be talking about my art, what led me to do what I do, and maybe a little lesson on recycling in California. Never know where the conversation will go. Plus people in the Zoom can ask questions. Happily two members of SCWCA will keep us on time. This is only an hour talk. Including the introduction and questions.

If you are unable to zoom in with us, know that it will be recorded and put on YouTube for you to watch later.

This Wednesday is the walk/ride of Silence. There will be a ghost bike on a trailer for everyone to decorate, a bike trailer ofrenda, and candle light vigil. This will be a slow paced ride/walk so that everyone, no matter how you get around can participate.

If you are able to please join us. I have a large collection of pipe cleaners and tissue paper from neighbors so that we can decorate bikes before the ride. Or you can hold a flower as you walk.

Starting location: Trolley Park (2nd & Redondo) Starting time: 5pm (you may show up late or meet us at the bluff if unable to be there at 5pm)

Parade path: West on 2nd St until reaching Bixby Park, then turning South onto Junipero until reaching Bluff Park

Ending location: Bluff Park overlooking the ocean

Join City Council Club this Tuesday, May 19th (and 6/16 too). Grab some paper & a pencil and attend the next City Council meeting with friends/neighbors. Learn what is going on so you can share your voice and be a more informed voter. Who doesn’t like ice cream? If that is you, they have brownies. And vegan options. And water. Or you can go home afterwards. You may also show up late, we are flexible and welcoming to all our Long Beach neighbors.
