🚨FACT CHECK:🚨 Vivek Ramaswamy’s Billionaire Super PAC is Desperate

Following the Cook Political Report’s announcement that it has moved the Ohio governor’s race to “Toss-Up,” Vivek Ramaswamy's out-of-state billionaire funded Super PAC has once again taken to the airwaves to not only spread lies about Dr. Acton, but also shame her for being a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.

The ad continues to spread lies and falsely depict Dr. Acton’s medical knowledge, even though she has three decades of medical experience and her medical knowledge has been rated as “excellent.”

 The record the attack ad is referencing was not a reflection of Dr. Acton’s medical ability or knowledge; it referred to a four-month, partial first-year medical internship. 

In 1994, Dr. Acton honestly answered a question on her medical licensure application that she sought standard therapy because she experienced childhood sexual abuse. Dr. Acton is not ashamed about having sought standard talk-therapy, and does not currently and has not ever abused drugs or alcohol. In a desperate, disgusting move, Ramaswamy has decided to publicly shame Dr. Acton for having overcome sexual abuse as a child. 

Dr. Acton has never had any kind of issue with alcohol or substances. She has never appeared before the medical board, as the ad inaccurately depicts. She has consistently renewed her medical license without issue. Spreading these dangerous lies is a clear sign of the desperation from the struggling Ramaswamy campaign, powered by millions of dollars from out of state, extremist billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Yass. 

This ad is a desperate attempt to spread lies about Dr. Acton. Polling shows that this race is neck-and-neck because Ohioans cannot trust out-of-touch billionaire Ramaswamy to fight for them. The Buckeye State knows that Dr. Acton is the most qualified candidate in this race to address the affordability crisis and build a brighter future for all Ohioans. 

“Vivek Ramaswamy is once again spreading lies about Dr. Acton and shaming her for being a survivor of childhood sexual assault, all to distract from the fact that Ohioans can’t stand him. This is consistent with Vivek Ramaswamy's behavior when it comes to ignoring sexual abuse. He refused to call for the release of the Epstein files for months, took $100,000 from an Epstein associate accused of having sex with underage girls, and touts the endorsement of a state rep accused of sexually abusing a minor. As poll after poll shows the race neck-and-neck, this is a clear last-ditch effort to save his floundering campaign,” said Acton campaign manager Philip Stein.
