Another busy week here on the trail and we’re just about 48 hours away from the primary election!
Amy kicked last week off with a rally in Cleveland with nurses, service workers, teachers, and laborers — the hardworking people that keep Ohio running. Watch some footage below!
Then Amy hit the road and rallied with teachers in Cincinnati to help get-out-the-vote during this critical early voting week. Right now, more than 300,000 Ohioans have already made their voices heard and cast their primary election ballot — showing up with energy this early will be a key indicator of just how strong this movement is. Check out our recap video!
On Thursday, Amy criss-crossed the state again, and met with 100+ folks out in Champaign County to deliver our message of hope and strength and our vision for an Ohio that serves us all, whether you’re in our most rural communities or in the heart of our big cities.
Amy headed to Lima on Friday to talk about the attacks on affordable health care. We’re up against an opponent who has said that he thinks Medicare and Medicaid are “mistakes” and who we can’t trust to protect the affordable care programs that thousands of seniors, kids, and working families rely on.
This week we were honored to receive the endorsement of the Ohio Nurses Association. As a doctor and a public health expert, Amy knows that nurses and healthcare workers are truly the backbone of the healthcare system. As governor she’ll work to make sure that nurses are able to continue to serve Ohioans by fighting to invest in access, accountability, and a workforce that can safely meet patients’ needs.
This week we also earned the endorsement of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union who represents the second largest union in Ohio with more than 60,000 members across grocery, retail, healthcare, food processing, cannabis, and meatpacking industries. Ohio’s UFCW members are on the front lines, working tirelessly to feed, serve, and strengthen communities across our state and we’re proud to fight for them.
Join us in Downtown Columbus this Tuesday for our Primary Election Night Watch Party!
This event is free to attend, RSVPs will be required for this event. Doors open at 6:30pm!
And if you’re reading this from one of Ohio’s 88 counties, make your plan to cast your ballot in the Primary Election! We need a historic showing at the polls this Tuesday to send a clear message that Ohio is ready for a brighter tomorrow.
