Our Very First Real-Time Broker Integration!
Using floe, we’ve officially launched our first real-time broker connection on VannaCharm using OAuth with Tradier. This means that VannaCharm premium customers can now connect their Tradier accounts directly to VannaCharm and receive real-time options data, including live open interest updates that enhance our dealer exposure model. This means directly in the browser, you get:
Dynamic per-strike implied volatility surface generation and smoothing in real-time using Black-Scholes
Real-time open interest updates at each strike based on trades reported by exchanges
Usage of both the real-time IV and open interest for gamma, vanna, and charm calculations
As far as we can tell, this is one of the most complete real-time options exposure models available to retail traders today, and we’re excited to bring this to our users with such an affordable subscription.
Try It Out
Head over to our live symbol overview page, connect your Tradier account, and start receiving real-time data. Once connected, you’ll be able to see dynamic dealer exposure metrics that update throughout the trading day based on live open interest changes. The default ticker is SPY, but you can change it to any optionable symbol. Note that for now, we also show only data for 0DTE options, as these are the overwhelmingly most influential on intraday flows. We hope you enjoy the real-time dashboard, and happy trading!
The Road Ahead
While VannaCharm’s real-time calculations with Tradier are more or less working, we’ve only just started initial experimentation with TastyTrade and Schwab connections, and with both, there are significant issues with the full data flow. All in due time as we work through these data crunching issues. We’re fairly confident that we can move TastyTrade, TradeStation, and Schwab connections to production in the coming weeks as well. The long-term vision is to build out every offered OAuth connection out there, run it through floe, and offer traders some of the best real-time options exposure calculations out there.
