Who gives a fuck about Poland? Or West Russia, as I prefer to call it. Certainly not Hitler, certainly not Stalin, both of whom invaded, although only the former is acknowledged in Żuławski’s hallucinatory testament. Talking of which, the Polish town where Żuławski was born is now in modern-day Ukraine. Keeping track of these borders and peoples is a thankless task. Why not lump them all together? Call them lice.
