Heavy Metal Hunters Book 6 comes out in just two short weeks! Thank you to everybody who has pre-ordered so far.
If it’s been a while and you want to remember what happened in the first five books, I wrote up a summary of the events so far.
Hale released the cord and caught the pendant in the same motion. The metal burned in his palm as it expanded rapidly into the Vampire Blood Moon Explorer. Viktor laughed loudly, and the hair pin flashed with gold light as it stretched out into a spear with a sprig of mistletoe hanging from the end.
“Hale!” Sibylla screamed at the same time as Brit shouted, “Fire!”
The witch hunters must not have expected them to actually fight back. By the time the first crossbow bolt hit the sharp black body of the Explorer, Aleksandr had already stepped toward Hale and hurled a dagger at someone past him. The bolt that should have pierced through the wood bounced off the guitar. It was hard to tell if Aleksandr had hit anybody with the dagger, but the distant shout of pain suggested he had. Aleksandr might not have been as good a shot as Karolina with a thrown weapon, but he wasn’t bad.
Viktor was better. The spear tore through the chest of the farthest hunter like it was nothing, then reappeared in his hand a moment later.
Hale couldn’t think too much about it. He turned toward the hunters rushing toward him, though not without glancing back over his shoulder at Aud. She was frozen in place with wide eyes.
“Go,” he said sharply.
“But—”
“Go!”
Both swords clattered loudly to the pavement as she tossed them toward Hale, and she bolted back toward the venue.
Thank you, Odin.
At least he wouldn’t have to worry about her.
There wasn’t time to worry about her, or anybody else.
