Single image month again
July is another single image month, that will include lots of additional images I found from artists that I've already included in the archive.
Launched in 1985 the Commodore Amiga boasted graphics capabilities that were unsurpassed for it's time. It featured an intricate collection of custom chips that enabled it to do things that, until then, had been impossible to achieve with other personal computers. This site is dedicated to graphics made with or for the Commodore Amiga home computer.

On this day 18 years ago I launched the Amiga Graphics Archive with the goal of creating a curated gallery with high quality and rare pixel art images made with and for the Commodore Amiga computer. As a special treat, I've added an image by Jim Sachs called Multimedia that I found in a badly scaled version, that I was able to restore pretty close to its original state.
Added a big collection of logos from Rainbow Arts, reLINE and a big batch from Titus, amongst others, and also some animated ones as well.
Added more images from the Das Grosse Amiga Jahrbuch 1987, including a lot of page scans. The book included a lot of famous images, which I had already added in other collections, but I've not been able to find any of the artsy or kids drawings.
Added a huge selection of color cycling images by Ken Costello. Some of them are simple experiments, others have really creative and intricate animations. Many created around 1986, when the Amiga was still brand new on the market.
I found several very old images by Jo-Anne Park, including some C64 versions, which also led me to her full name. She was already very active on the C64 and you can see the progression when she went on to the Amiga.
March is single image month in which I add images that didn't fit into larger updates or are missing images from older updates.
First update of the year and I added a whole collection of nice images from CU Amiga magazine. I went down the rabbit hole and added scans from the magazines' Art Gallery section, which included lots more really cool art. But as usual it's been really difficult to find the original versions of these images.
Added lots of nice images from Compute! Amiga Resource Magazine. They featured lots of great images in their art gallery section.
Added a big selection of color cycling images, each with interesting and fascinating techniques to achieve astonishing animations simply by shifting the color values around the palette. I also built a new color cycling converter that can better fit these animations into loopable sections and can also handle interlaced images.
Added the next batch of Amiga Magazin images. This time from the color cycling contests in July 1988. I switched the format for images with color cycling or animations in CRT mode to MP4, because some of the loops were getting too long and using animated WEBP files wasn't practical anymore.
Added a huge selection of images that were published in the german Amiga Magazin. Most of these were winning entries in their regular graphics competitions. As I had already included several images from these competitions (like Orlando Petermann, Jens Eisert, Walter Bergmann and others...), I have also added a section for all publications, where you can see all the images at together.
Added level graphics to the game Starray and included the graphics for the Atari ST version as comparison since it actually manage to improve over the Amiga version, despite being technically at a disadvantage. Also found an alternative version of the title screen.
As final update for this year I added a whole bunch of awesome images from Facet who has been really productive in the past year.
Added another batch of classic images from Aegis Images and Aegis Spectra Color art packages.
Added a collection of images by Island Graphics from the very beginning of the Amiga.
Added a lot of nice graphics from the air race game Gee Bee Air Rally by Mike Nowak.
Added some brilliant new images from oldschool scener Facet, who has been quite active again in the last couple of years. I also changed the ordering for sceners, so that the images will now be shown from new to old.
Updated the logo section of british video game developer/publisher Ocean Software Ltd. with all logos I could find, finally including the correct color palette entries.
Added a great collection of early hi-res images from Robert J. Spirko. A lot of these were printed in the german Amiga Jahrbuch 1987.
Added a whole bunch of images that were printed in various magazines as part of art contests - mostly from german Amiga Magazin. Finding original files isn't easy, since magazines rarely distributed the submissions during the 80ies. This got better during the 90ies, when coverdisks and cdroms were more common, but sadly by that time a lot of submissions consisted of 3D renderings and photo…
Added a bunch of beautiful landscape paintings by Walter Bergmann. He also got his art printed in an art contest by german Amiga Magazin
Added a couple of impressive images from Mike Crossmire alias MGC from the very early Amiga years.
Added graphics from the game Warhead, which uses its limited palette to great effect to create metallic surfaces and structures.
Added graphics from the game Crazy Cars 2 which features really nicely pixeled in-game sprites of the Ferrari F40 and Ford police car.
Added a big collection of very early artworks created by artists of the french design school Brassart in 1986.
Here's a big update with early art from Finnish artist Heikki Luhtala, EHB art from Eddey and more images from Swiss artist Orlando Petermann.
Another scene update with lots of recently released images from Archmage, Facet, FadeOne and Prowler. Nice to see these artists revisiting their roots.
Updated the scene category, fixing lots of images, adding more palettes and new images, especially from Made, DAS and Fairfax. Also fixed a couple of bugs.
Added a whole packet of great images from one of the early European Amiga artists, Orlando Petermann.
I recently stumbled across dumps of official Psygnosis backup disks and this is the first batch of files I was able to add to the already existing Aquaventura section, including all rendered sequences taken directly from the game. The WIP sequence for the title art gives an especially fascinating insight into how this images was created.
