Here are some photos that show you how absolutely tacky the Palace decorations were/are. But heh we used to say that we lived in trailers, but worked in a Palace and we weren’t wrong!

We called this the “Baby Fac,” meaning the small Dining Facility (DFAC). This was inside the Palace, very near to my office, and was for “quick” meals. I usually picked up my breakfast here.

The ladies room in one hallway. Marble walls/floors; gold-plated fixtures.

Check out THIS ceiling! While many were made from some sort of white, moldable material, this one is actually wood.

This is the ceiling in one of the “ballrooms” which were split into offices with plywood walls.

A chair. You would find these random gaudy chairs/sofas all over the place.

A chandelier in a coffee nook. You would grab your coffee, have a seat, look up and see this.

Coffee nook. Here’s where you could grab coffee any time of day or night. BTW, all the food and drinks were paid for by the US Taxpayers. Just so you know.

This was the ONLY place you had to pay for coffee - the Coffee Bean.

Main Conference Room. Lots of VERY high-level conferences took place here; and some not to high-level meetings as well. They say this was Hussein’s private conference room.
