Welcome back to my new series called “One Book” where I invite someone to tell us about one book that changed their life or one book they can’t stop talking about. Today’s guest is author P.L. Jonas, whose pick for this series is a book that’s inspired her to try writing in a brand new genre!

The Book I could not stop thinking about --
Fourth Wing (bk 1, Empyrean Series) by Rebecca Yarrows

An adult fantasy romance.

This book is hugely addictive and wildly popular. I am just one of millions of people who have devoured this series. They are monster books, but I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

Fourth Wing is about a war college for dragon riders, and I have become very attached to dragon stories. I love dragons! I don’t really care for war stories or books based on war, but this series is a different kind of war. And don’t forget the intensely problematic yet passionate love story between Violet Sorrengail and Xaden Riorson.

The other two books in the series are Iron Flame and Onyx Storm. Ultimately there will be a total of five books. The fourth one hasn’t been written yet because poor Rebecca was so exhausted from writing the first three books that she took some time off.

Fantasy romance is my current reading genre obsession, which has inspired me to write my very first YA Fantasy Romance. There aren’t any dragons, but some pretty scary creatures, lots of magic, sorcerers, a prophecy, and plenty of adventures, plus the requisite romance.

Pamela is an award-winning, multi-genre author of historical fiction, romantic suspense, psychological suspense, and time-travel romance. You can follow her on Facebook, or visit her website to find out more about her work.
