I’m on the road today at the 1000 Miles to Memphis march for voting rights on the leg out of Atlanta, so I’m not home to film this week’s whiteboard. So we get a written update this week! Here’s what you need to know:
The House is on its August recess (yes, the whole month). Like most “at home” weeks, this isn’t really a “vacation” so much as a time to fundraise and focus on constituent services…if you’re a Democrat. If you’re a Republican, you’re probably ignoring your constitutents altogether.
The Senate is punting confirmation of Todd Blanche, who is currently Acting Attorney General. Cornyn and Tillis balked at his confirmation without assurances that the weaponization fund is dead-dead; Blanche wouldn’t give it. He will stay on as Acting for the foreseeable.
