Experiencing the first spring at our new house has been nothing short of magical so far. Every time I look out of my office window and see the trees exploding with new growth or hear the squirrels go barreling across the roof chasing each other, I get the biggest, goofiest grin on my face.
I’ve been having a hard time leaning into joy lately (the world just feels so heavy these days), but the birds chirping and the warm air always does wonders for my soul. Leaning into those moments of peace and wonder at how beautiful it all is has been keeping be going lately, and I’m so grateful to be in a home where we’re truly surrounded by gorgeous, mature trees just exploding with life.
Of course, we’re also surrounded by trees dropping enough oak pollen to completely cover the ground, leaving us itchy and sneezy and watery-eyed. But, you know, gotta find the joy where you can!
March was a great month for us. We had a lovely and relaxing spring break, we’ve been spending tons of time at the park and the library, and we’re grilling every chance we get. Pretty perfect spring, if you ask me!
I needed some cute flats to wear on days when sneakers don’t cut it, so I grabbed these. They’re so incredibly cute but my high arches struggle with flats. So, I also snagged these shoe inserts for flats and they’re the perfect solution. They feel great on my sensitive little feet, and you can’t see them at all!
G’s new bed is easily the winner of the entire month around here. We’re all obsessed with it, and it’s been the most popular thing I’ve shared with y’all as well. It’s well-made, affordable, and comes with so many fun features. I can’t stop talking about it.
These pants are going to be the MVP of my wardrobe this spring, I can tell already.
If you don’t have a big ol’ jar of Vaseline in your bathroom, what are you even doing?! I’ve always loved using it for dry elbows and as chapstick, but this month I started using it as eye cream too and OMG I AM OBSESSED. I use my regular eye cream and then (at night only) I slather a bit of this on top. I noticed an almost immediate difference in the skin around my eyes and I love how it feels. 11/10, no notes.
If you have kids, might I recommend always having some of these on hand to tuck into their bathroom. Just thank me later.
Snagged this gorgeous sideboard for our living room this month and I’m absolutely in love with it. The quality is really great (especially for the price) and it’s perfect for the space.
I decided to give these forehead patches a go and I really love how they make my skin feel! I’ve been sleeping in one a few nights a week and I always wake up with the softest skin. No clue if it’s doing anything for my wrinkles, but it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than Botox so I’m gonna keep going!
Swapped away from my winter scent for my kitchen cleaner and went back to my all-time-favorite scent. It makes cleaning the kitchen actually enjoyable, which makes it fully worth the splurge if you ask me.
Need a classic striped tee for the spring? I found this one for $13 and it’s so cute. The sleeves have a really fun slightly-puffy detail, the length is great, and I love the stripe pattern.
We’ve still got almost a week left in the month, and I have every intention of squeezing another book or two in during that time, so I can’t declare my final book count for the month yet, but so far I’m at 13 books for the month (5 audiobooks and 4 non-audio books for myself, plus another 4 books I read aloud with Corey). I’ve been reading almost non-stop in my spare time (including when I’m hanging out with Corey, as evidenced by the 4 books we flew through this month!) and it’s been keeping me sane.
This month I read:
Carl’s Doomsday Scenario, Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook, and The Gate of the Feral Gods (AKA: books 2, 3, and 4 in this series). All audiobooks, all absolutely delightful. I haven’t jumped into book 5 yet because I got an audiobook I had been waiting for from the library, but it’s killing me to find out what happens next. This series is so good!
The Gilded Cage and The Blood Traitor (here’s book 1 of this series). I picked this up because I saw it as a recommendation from my favorite author, and I’m so glad I did. It’s a really easy-to-read fantasy series. It’s light on romance (zero spice!), heavy on excitement, and pretty can’t-put-downable.
I am obsessed with every book in this series, but this one was probably in my top two. It’s a series you can really read in any order (there are loose connections between them but you aren’t missing anything if you just jump in), and every one of them is just SO incredibly good.
I highly recommend the audiobook of this one if you can, but it’s incredible either way. Tyler Merritt is an absolutely amazing storyteller and I could listen to him talk all day. This book made me feel so many feelings, I cried more than once, and I think it should probably be required reading for every single person.

Apparently our monthly roundups have become the place for a good sneak peek because I can officially confirm I started painting our bedroom!!!! I am SO EXCITED to share it with you and I’m head over heels in love with the color I chose. I started working on it really slowly over spring break and I’m wrapping up a few final details before I snap photos.
But, I can confirm the color is pure perfection.
