Being back to work is exhausting.

Like beyond exhausting…

I have accomplished nothing when it comes to my books and my social media has suffered.

But I feel like it’s just the chapter I am in right now. Slowly i’ll get back to feeling more like myself, but right now I need some rest.

on top of that I decided it was time to plan my exit from my Microsoft subscription.

I always used the excuse that I needed it to write when i’m not home… or that it housed all my photos so I needed it.

well I settled on a multipart solution that is a fun fit for me.

  1. Writing: i’m going back to a good old usb stick. That’s right, i’m going to plug a usb into my iPad anytime I want to work on my books. I’m also going to set up a protocol so that when I plug into my main computer it will back up my usb to my hard drive just for an added layer of security.

  2. Photos: I set up immich and am self hosting a local server in my home so that I can backup photos and view them anytime i’m home.

  3. Microsoft word&excel: this one is easy, i’m going to migrate to libreoffice. I already started building my templates so that I have easy options to format my books before publication ☺️

I’m actually kind of excited to part ways with the subscription for the sake of money back in my pocket but also having some more control over exposure points to my files and family photos.

Anyway, between fitting in baby cuddles (ie. me trying to cuddle and baby trying to struggle to crawl around instead) and Linux (iykyk) and relaxing with the husband, my weeks have been so full since returning to work.

So please accept this horribly sparse update as my sincere post for the week. I'm trying my best here.
