Please, look! I have many fine pieces!

If you haven’t played oblivion then you may not be familiar with my title. But, Iykyk.

I survived my first big book event and the entire time I felt like a clunky elder scrolls NPC attempting to sell my wares. It was an amazing day tho, don’t get me wrong! Just please tell me i’m not the only one becoming their worst NPC merchant selves at events 😅

It was a perfect family event, I packed up my husband and little guy and we got to spend the day outside at a local waterfall.

I lost count of how many times I awkwardly said “these are all gothic horror” but it must have worked a little bit because during the course of the 4 hour event I was able to sell 10 books and a bunch of stickers/bookmarks.

It definitely paid off to have stickers and bookmarks with me. They didn’t make a crazy amount of money but they did snag me some sales I wouldn’t have had from people not interested in gothic horror. Highly recommend having a little bit of book merch for your events. However my husband did have a good point, when I make more bookmarks I need to start putting my information and website on the back for better marketing.

I went into this event thinking if I sold one book i’d be happy, and I sold 10. The weather was perfect and despite some nerves I had such a fun time.

I even did a reading, albeit I speed through and it was probably too short. But I did it. For someone who notoriously hates public speaking i’m really happy and proud of myself. It was a huge step forward and it directly gained me a book sale!

I am super excited to restock my books from bookvault, butttttttt I have another one I need to finalize first so I can order all three for my September event. 👀

So if you need me I will hopefully be writing and editing. (Let’s be real tho, it’ll be slower than i’d like because i’m back to work full time again. More on that later after I can get my feet under me)
