If you’re planning to shop this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, my biggest piece of advice is this: don’t wait until your shopping window opens to decide what you want.
The sale can feel overwhelming. Thousands of items, limited inventory, and the pressure to check out before your favorites sell out can make it tempting to buy things simply because they’re discounted. But over the years, I’ve learned that a sale doesn’t automatically make something a good purchase.
Instead, I like to go into the sale with a thoughtful wishlist already in place.
You can easily do this in your Nordstrom account. Simply click on your name at the top, then select “Wishlist” from the drop-down menu. Proceed to create a wishlist for this years’ Nordstrom sale to hold the items you’d like to purchase. It makes it super easy to then add the items to your bag when it’s your time to shop.
As I built mine this year, I focused on timeless wardrobe staples, elevated basics, beauty favorites I’d likely repurchase anyway, and a handful of pieces that I genuinely think are worth considering if they fit your personal style and budget. My wishlist isn’t meant to become your shopping list. It’s simply here to spark ideas and help you build one that’s uniquely your own.
Nordstrom cardholders with Icon Status can begin shopping on Tuesday. If that’s you, I’d encourage you to spend a few minutes today finishing your wishlist so you can head into Early Access with a plan instead of feeling rushed. And if you’re still deciding, I hope mine gives you a little inspiration as you think through what makes the most sense for your own wardrobe.
